alright so extrom is a good wrestler but he has had no one in the finals of his last three state finals and then this year he lucked out and paddock got her....if paddock was healthy he would have won and been a 4 time state champ but exttrom lucked out and became a four time state champ

Singlets   March 30 at 8:27pm
If anybody is wondering about the singlets
In NY, there are only two tournaments to get into states: Class and Sectional

See NY is divided into 11 or 12 sections
which are further divided based on school size (class size)
Both of these two are from section five, small school
and should have already met at the sectional championship
as only the winner gets the trip to states
one of these two must have gotten a wildcard

No 1st takedown by Ekstrom? What match were you watching? A cradle locked up with Paddock's supporting points in bounds. Two all day!! Just because a kid scrambles out afterwards does not negate the takedown. As a ref I get tired of these silly "evaluations" of every call. Grow up, ref up, or STFU!

Anyone that bashes either of these wrestlers is an idiot. Yes Ekstrom had a bad knee and Paddock had a bad shoulder in the sectional final neither took injury time and as you saw here neither took injury time two warriors going after each other. Both of these wrestlers wrestled the majority of the match in the center congrats to both of these young men and good luck in the future!!

that first takedown given to ekstrom was bull..that would have never flown in d1 wrestling...they would have deff caleld that a scramble. Ekstrom did not secure that takedown..it was a reverse cradel which turned into a roll through scramble....bad call

The match was more even this weekend. Ekstrom has a bad knee and Paddock has a bad shoulder. The better wrestler won. Paddock is a great wrestler and will do great in the years to come. Ekstrom showed he could pull off the victory when it really mattered.

I would love to SEE Steven Dutton wrestle both of these boys.

Congrats to both Eckstrom and Paddock for giving NYS Wrestling fans- years of entertainment. Good luck with life and your wrestling careers fellas.

Great match by both wrestlers. Who knows how it influenced or didn't influence the outcome, but I liked watching Paddock battle through that obvious shoulder pain and still wrestle well. Tough kid.

Paddock would have won if he didnt injure his shoulder in his semi-finals match..

previous to this match his record against Eckstrom was 5-1 i think... with Eckstorm's win coming last year when paddock moved up a weight to wrestle him in a dual.
