Zeke had a motor. The Turk had to take some lungers.

Mohsen,

Nice attachment on the video below but I think Coach Zeke is posting the collar tie up elbow with his opposite hand as he sweep singles the leg. At clinics he calls it a "cross post" where is uses his right hand to post the far left elbow. It's a brillant set up that he used for many years against the best int the world and there are not many wrestlers that know it. Slick!
The crowd was great. America loves our wrestlers.

Great match with lots of entertaining action and drama. Now I realize what is lacking with todays rules......it's the drama that comes with sustained action. With the old rules the drama could build over the course of a match with the advantage passing back and forth between the athletes adding to the suspense of who would be victorious. In todays era with the two or three short periods the action is never sustained long enough for those emotions to build in the spectators. The current rules have essentially sucked all the drama out of the sport.

I'm all about U.S.A., but Zeke lost this one. There were a lot of weird spots in the crackdown position where the Turk could have (should have) got points. I scored the match while watching and at one point it was 6-5 on the score board and I had the Turk like 3-4 ahead instead of 1. The Turk was able to secure that leg and put Zeke on his butt at will. He should have one the match.

He had his hand raised every match in the tournament and won Bronze.

If the score was different Zeke would've wrestled the match differently. He did what he was supposed to do to win based on the score and the time remaining.
There's only one score in a match...the one on the scoreboard.

Tough match to score for sure... I had it as a tie, and that's assuming the Turk doesn't get any favors from the officials.

Protests are awful, I'm glad FILA got rid of them. We still have them at the Canadian championships and there is alwaya a huge gong show during the finals because of multiple protests.

Kind of a sloppy match by Zeke. He was the aggressor the entire match, but he allowed the Turk in on his legs way too much, and gave up a lot of points as a result. That last throw was great, though, and you've got to love the way he just kept coming. I always prefer the offensive wrestler to win, but there might have been a little home cooking here. How about the Turk's mustache?

There's no way to score the match differently. Three referees made a decision and scored it right. How many matches have you seen that you could've scored differently?

What set up did he keep using? It looks like some kind of post on the opposite side?

Coach Zeke's skill is evident on how he balances offense and counter offense. He's great. One of our best ever.

Great match at the 1995 Worlds featuring our current National Team Coach, Zeke Jones and 1995 Euro Silver medalist Metin Topaktas of Turkey.

Lots of action in this bout with both wrestlers really going after it. Some good counter wrestling as well.

Topaktas scored early and then ran out of gas and Jones came back on him and scored a big throw in the last 10 seconds to win the bout.

The match was subsequently protested and rescored, giving the Turk the victory. I watched it a few times and I first gave Jones an 8-7 victory. Then I had the Turk winning. Then it was a tie. It all depends upon who gets points and how many at the 1:38 mark, how many points the Turk gets at the 3:30 mark, and if you give the Turk 2 or 3 for his crotch lift and Zeke 2 or 3 for his last throw.

Regardless, alls I know is that protests are horrible. Glad they pretty much did away with them.

Enjoy.
