they might be out of the red and black but thats where i got my black and blue inflicts..and i love them but u should look into the gray and yellow nike inflicts
and i go to every match and humphrey complains about his contact all the time its so annoying
when my dad gets home he is so pissed at him but hes still pretty good
i thought that Nickerson shud wrestle Escobedo in the NCAA finals, but after this match, I think that Humphrey shud definately be a finalist this year because if he gets Escobedo, he'll probably lose again
Reece showed explosive moves and steady mental toughness while Lou wrestled well. This made for a great match, one of the best college matches I have seen on Flow, comparable to the Poeta v. Gillispie match. Great job fellows, this is entertainment, combat, and sport combined to result in a test of courage and preparation.
Okay, I take my previous comment back, but my God was that beautiful. That should be filmed by a slow motino camera and put in a highlight video. That would be awesome!!!!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! That was the best throw in college I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THEY STOPPED THAT!!!!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Absolutely no way was that a slam. He still had a fot on the ground. My god my heart is pumping right ow!! LOL
Great wrestling match. Both these guys' performances in this match demonstrated why I will forever be a fan of college wrestling. Gotta love slick Ohio takedowns and tough Jersey/PA style riding in a matchup with great talent in a packed gym. I hope both of these guys end up on the podium this year. I wish I could've been in that gym!
PLEASE stop this slam business. The call was for an illegal throw NOT a slam. It makes no difference whether someone was brought down safely or not or that no one got hurt. A rule was broken. You get a ticket for going 85 in a 55 zone not because you might not get home safely or might injure someone else. The law/rule is there for those reasons but you actually get the ticket because you are breaking the establsihed rules as posted. The rules against straight back throws in college wrestling are posted. He was therefore flagged for an illegal move. NOT A SLAM. BTW "No" the rule is there to protect the thrower as well as the "throwee".
Although it was a slam, I feel It was completely unintentional. I don't think it was Humphrey's intent to take Ruggirello straight over his head. However, we all know that it is your responsibility to return your opponent to the mat in a controlled maner.
the kid couldnt of hurt his neck because reece did a backarch and landed on his own head. by landing on his own head first, he made sure it wasnt a slam, and that the other kid wouldnt hurt his neck.
What?! He could have been back to belly and it wouldn't of made a difference. YOU CAN NOT GO STRAIGHT BACK on that type of throw! This is what is so frustrating (cradle 3). Yes he had two overs. So what. Everyone who ever wore a singlet, had a kid that wore a singlet, or sat in the stands and saw/heard a coach butcher the interpretation of the rules think that they can critique the ref (the only guy there who is paid to actually know the rules). Should he come to your job and show you how to hang drywall or run wire at the construction site? BTW, I'm especially impressed at the instant nature of the call. No hesitation whatsoever. Thats impressive given that he wouldn't see that move often over his 20+ years of officiating. At least not in a college match where it is (or should be) known to be illegal.
Three things are clear: 1. That was an illegal throw - as someone below stated, the thrown wrestler is at serious risk for a neck injury if he does not tuck his head; 2. nonetheless, Humphrey is looking like an NCAA finalist; and 3. Martin visted the bars before this match.
One PD was a weird chicken wing that is PD upon application and one had RH's leg bending against the natural movement. And lets not even discuss the illegal throw. What match were you watching? Take off your Hostra raybans and watch the match objectively. I realize that there are alot of A.C. out there but the one just before this post please respond.
great match but horrible officiating! lou got screwed on top with a few potentially dangerous calls and humphreys throw was legit....refs need to stop getting so involved like askren said
I just want to point out that I enjoy the commentating greatly! Martin just seems like maybe he went to the bars before this one is all haha? I mean come on how many vid's have you guys heard him announce? He does sound a little loose here!
This was not simply belly to belly. You can not take an opponent straight back over you head in what is commonly referred to as a suplay (sulplex sometimes) or salto. The rule is intended to prevent the type of severe neck injury that can result if the arch back is not enough or the thrown wrestler doesn't tuck neck forward. The deceptive part of this throw is that he landed fine and with the top guy in good position for a fall. So if you close your eyes from the original counter move to them laying on the mat it looks like nothing illegal happened. But in the interim an illegal throw was made. This really shouldn't be discussed from a legality standpoint. That is cut and dry for folkstyle wrestling. It is worthy of discussion for the beauty of the throw, IMO.
Don't get me wrong Martino, this was a great match and I love college wrestling more than ANYTHING in the world, but the match of the week has to go to Taylor V. Palmer! Sorry if my earlier hurtful comment sent you into the corner of HQ to cry yourself to sleep! Hump is a real freak and can beat anyone, and has the coolest dad of all time!
a belly to back is illegal in folkstyle. but, in college a belly to belly is not an illegal move. if he called it as illegal he must have been calling it as a slam....so i guess i am confused what was called there.
WAKE UP said: Listen you "knowledgable" wrestling pundits. The throw was awesome and was not a slam. It was, however, illegal which is what was called. Hence the two hands behind the head signal given by the ref. If this was greco or freestyle, GREAT 5 pointer or match ender but this is collegiate folkstyle. Get it together and judge by the proper criteria. Every call the ref made was right on. The "bar" stoppage was because it was not a bar. It was a potentially dangerous "chicken wing" sort of thing. Check the video in slow mo. The stalemates were because even after giving time to improve or advance the hold there was no action. That is what a stalemate is by definition. As an official, it gets alittle old when the highly emotional and opinionated people are unfortunately also the ones highly mistaken or ignorant of the rules and nuances of wrestling. Good Job R.T.

humphrey wrestlees like the the last minute the whole match he techs that kid. Great match great throw. Why the US sucks at freestyle/greco cause they are not allowed to throw people.
commentary is a must! boxing, mma, nfl, all sports, if we want to see wrestling grow perhaps on T.V. someday we need commentary. Martin is awesome and i thank him for what he does. I love flo I would have never been able to see that awesome throw without it.
INCREDIBLE JOB OF ANNOUNCING!!! I WOULD RATHER WATCH FLOWRESTLING AND LISTEN TO YOUR COMENTARY THAN WATCH ABC,CBS, NBC, ALL OF THE TWELVE OR SO ESPN CH. GREAT JOB IN SPORTS BROADCASTING.

You should just quit Martin, I think you should shut this site down, your commentating is so unbearable that I mute things and just won't come to flowrestling ever again. I think we should let wrestling just slip back into the dark ages, you should be ashamed of what you have done for wrestling and the disrespect you have given to people by not pronouncing their names correctly!
Martin could just tape the matches and not say anything, but I'm glad he does. It adds to the excitement of the match. No one helps him pronounce any of these names, and he sees 100's of wrestlers all over the country. So I don't expect him to get every name exactly right, he's doing the best he can.
I have heard much worse as for the commentating goes. I can't believe people on here are complaining about it. You can watch some of the best wrestling in the country for free that you can't make it out to watch. They could make this a pay site or not even commentate. I think it is awesome that they even do this. As for the throw...it may have been the best I have ever seen.
TO--> "to everyone!!" if your going to put urself in those situations of commentation... Learn to do so. for example, learning the names of the wrestlers: "reece humphrey's"?? thats disrespectful to the athlete's. If your going to take the time to commentate the matches, do it right. But overall... GO FLO!
Leave Martin alone!! If you don't want to watch the matches for free, then don't. And if you want to watch them, don't complain and be thankful. Thank you Martin and everyone at Flowrestling for doing the job you do. I really appreciate it.
One of the sickest collegiate throws in a while..5'ed him. Anyone else think the announcer was drunk during this match though...definitely seems a little wasted.
sick match. I was up behind the hofstra bench taping this match, but everyone was standing up so i couldnt get a good tape this match and during Jaggers match but I'm glad you got it down.
You should definitely make that throw takedown of the week even though "technically" it wasn't a takedown. Throw of the week or whatever.
they might be out of the red and black but thats where i got my black and blue inflicts..and i love them but u should look into the gray and yellow nike inflicts
that was a very sick throw...i love it haha

bullcrap that wasnt an illegal throw!
but i gotta give lou credit for a good match
Your audio on the videos makes the videos worth watching, your passion about the sport makes the videos all the better!

Humphrey to win NCAAs?

LOL that throw was amazing.
