The better wrestler won. Certainly no TD, but would have been better to let it continue. I think the ref figured he couldn't finish and didn't want to just let the clock run out.

I am proud of both Mendoza and Yorbas match it was awsome, Of course jose mendoza will always be #1 in my book. I have to give it to Yorba he really pushed jose toward the end, thats one wrestler that will push jose to his limit, a lot of respect for poway and their team, when you wrestle a poway kid you better bring it, because they will wrestle you to the end. Good Luck to Jose and Yorba should be another finalist at state.

if you see Yorba had his hands lock just needed to put his foot in the center of José legs and that is when the ref stop the match well what is done is done come to march will be nice to see a rematch

Although the referee did appear to blow a quick whistle, that in itself does not equate to an inevitable takedown by Yorba.

Both young men are class acts, and both appeared to respect the decision. It goes without saying "stuff happens". The inevitable rematch will not be this close.

If the ref would let Yorba finished his move the out come would be different when do you see people booing when a Poway kid losses you must agree it was a bad call

The kid is trying to hook in and they call a stalemate after 5 seconds? He was clearly working to improve his position. Terrible, terrible call. Good job to Mendoza though. I am sure the crowd was not booing the wrestlers, just there terrible officiating.

That was a terrible stalemate call. Should be a good rematch if they do wrestle at the state meet.

The ref should of let it continue. The fact is that he didn't. Selma hates to win that way. Mendoza possibly could have held on for the last 13 seconds. The boy has a very strong grip. We will have to wait until state to see the rematch.

Good match but refs need the wrestlers battle Yorba will see him again at State also the booing was not for the Selma kid it was for the ref and I am sure Yorba will work harder so it won’t go to the call of the ref good luck to this wrestlers at state
