West ended up goin up to 140 for state and didnt even place.
he had to default for some reason. mabey he didnt make weight. it's weird how he went from a state runner up to a state qualifier.

I thought about some things over the weekend...

1)Mitch Newcomer will win state
2) Mitch WIll win masters
3) The only person Mitch has lost to was the 35 lb from Santa Monica who he soundly beat the week after Five Counties
4) The best wrestling kyle West has done was his state tournemant last year. he wont be in the state finals... but if he does good for him! id love to see a rematch of this... mitch smells

WTF, if you look at the turk, Newcomer's back never broke the 90 degree plane, so therefore, no back points. Nice try tho...

I don't think people are giving Mitch enough credit. Everyone can say that Kyle was just having a bad match, but I think Mitch is just better! Just my personal opinion, so don't flame me about how stupid I am.

It's not the wrestler it's his coaches - they have him cutting too much weight -
he should just wrestle up and feel good.

Anonymous Coward said:
why does the dude look like a midget seriously is he even 5 feet tall yet?
Wow -
Are you in love with Kyle or What ??
You are either completely obsessed with him or completely jealous of him.
To insult someone like that on a public forum shows that you have insecurities about yourself. - You wish you had half of Kyle's abilities
West is the total package:
He has great technique, He has the strength, He has the confidence and personality that makes ALL who know him LIKE HIM. He comes from a great family, he has outstanding grades, he is a leader in his church, he has a hot girl friend, he is a good looking guy that gets all kinds of attention on and off the mat. He leads by example.
He has his college paid for with a full scholarship. He has been on the cover of magazines local and nationally. He is a local hero in his home town. Our team is proud to have him as our captain.
To call him a midget??? - - it is obvious why you do not use your real name.
Get a life!!

Look at his match with Alex Krom he wrestled the same way. It seems when someone is close to him in technical he doesnt come through.

If he can bench 340lbs he would be killing everybody. Please give me a break

WEST! at 8:16, you have a leg in but are holding on to nothing. you deserved to lose making a ed mistake like that. i hope people from other states dont see this because if they watch that 3rd period and hear that the guy in the blue got 2nd at state, they will laugh at California.
Have you ever had a bad match? or had a bad tournament? I have! It happens when you've been around wrestling a long time.
You obviously have a lot of guts to say people will laugh at California because one
State finalist has a bad match. That should be a huge compliment to West if the
all of California Wrestling reputation depends upon how he does at one tournament.
Come on - - be real
West is obviously cutting too much weight too fast - - he will figure it out and we
all know he will be back on top and you'll regret all the bad thoughts you
have shared.

Kyle is not looking good this year at all. He looks to be in a slump. He is a great wrestler but looks like he is just not wrestling hard or just doesnt have it in him this year.

Say anythang you want haters look at him last year vs this year. Looks to be a little different wrestler. Im not talking about his match with Alex Krom either.

Why would kyle cut him? Its not like kyle was not taking him down left and right like you r making it sound like. Mitch has very good defense. It was a good match and kyle just came up short this time. And whoever you are talking about kyle like that, why would you down talk a wrestler that tried his hardest. He is an amazing wrester and person. And saying people would laugh? Are you kidding me with that? We need to surport all of are wrestler your california not down talk them.

Very disappointed in this match. I remember watching this kid wrestle last year and he was impressive. He looked tired, out of shape, and overmatched. Maybe it was cutting too much weight. His lack of height seems to be a major problem. Who is his coach????????? He needs to learn how to cut a guy and wrestle on your feet when you are that dominant on a guy.
