UNC has a great location. The can schedule Iowa, Iowa State, etc. and its not that far away. I was shocked at the facilities, impressive. I wish them a successful year as the move on in the DI.

If you look at these guys highlight reel, it seems like they are doing just fine. They took 5 to national last year.

Transition   May 21, 2008 at 11:42am
When teams move up they have to go through a several year period where they cannot compete in a national tournament. This makes it very hard to recruit as well as keep up the level of motivation. Is there a better way to do this? Seems to me like this is a good setup for failure as a new team. It may even keep teams from trying to move up.

Too bad the Big Sky conference eliminated every wrestling team in 1987. Boise State held on to theirs and have excelled. I was at Montana when we got the axe. I would love to see wrestling back in the Big Sky.

These guys are going to dominate. Maughan, DeVoe, Cherrington, Bowling, are you serious. A staff like this will produce some champs.

UNC just made the jump to Division 1. Coach Jack Maughan believes that they have the staff, resources and tradition to be successful at this level. Take a look at what UNC has to offer.
