Sorry for rippin u on tennis video crap, but i'm just old fashioned that way. My apologies to Chip Nation. Falck hit a miracle.

Typical Iowa? Agreed Brands was a bit overzealous, but he never entered the ring. He was in that same color singlet not too long ago, so ease up.
Your comment sounds more like sour grapes over a Hawk getting a lucky fall than a real criticism of a coach and, more importantly, a wrestling program that has earned their place back at the top.

Falck might not have "deserved" to win this match when you look at all the periods in their entirety, but no matter how you judge it, he pinned Sentes. He didnt cheat or stall; Sentes just got greedy and paid a price, but no doubt he'll learn and be a better wrestler for it. I look forward to a rematch.
That said, move on. Don't go smearing Iowa's good name because you're upset.

I first thought Falck instigated the nonsense at the end, but Sentes expected Falck off a little early. As far as Brands goes, he's not bright...great wrestler...great coach...very simple mind. Outside of wrestling, he probably would never accomplish anything.

As far as Iowa not winning the NCAAs...not so much. They DEFINITELY will, but Iowa St will probably beat them 7 Dec in the dual. 141, 157, 165, 197, 285 DEFINITE wins for ISU. They COULD win a couple others, mainly 125 and 133.
Lastly, Falck could study Sentes for a year and still not keep him from getting his legs. Falck somehow has this "quick" reputation. He's not.

As a Coach, I would be all over Falck for a poor performance...dominated for nearly the entire match....This one was nothing to write home about. I bet Brands had plenty to say to him....vs a true Frosh too....The story here is, "watch out for Sentes"...The kid is clearly "on the map" now!

Good for Falck, but Sentes dominated the whole match. Sentes was up 5-0 with 3+ minutes of riding time. Falck won with a homer desperation move that works 1/1000 times at this level. It worked this time. Falck might win again, but his little finger point at the end was a little stupid...against a true freshman?

Look people...Metcalf proved to us that fluke pins happen. He dominated Caldwell. Falck won no doubt in anyone's mind, but to think he will kill Sentes next time is ignorance beyond a two year old's mental capacity. Scotti is a great wrestler with a great coach at a great program, same as Falck. I believe these two will meet up and the match will be a barn burner. Falck will study Sentes numerous times over again and Scotti will be training like a madman to get revenge on a loss he had won. Good Luck to both wrestlers.

Sentes is good for a freshman but he did not dominate that match. He won a couple LUCKY scraambles and was up 4-0. The better wrestler ended up winning and that was Falck. And when they wrestle again Falck will win again. He's to quick and smooth for Sentes.

Check out the Falck vs Brendan Byrne Maryland Match. I see fish hooks and a lot of grabbing of the face area by Falck. Alot of things happen during a match that you don't see. Usually the one retaliating gets caught. A good tough match all around by both wrestlers. They are competitors that hate to lose.

Shades of Rohn-Lambrecht - it ain't over 'till it's over.
I watched the last 45 seconds several times. I don't have a dog in this fight but it looks to me like Sentes is pushing Falck long after the match is over. Freeze frame it at 7:38 and Falck is clearly kneeling and almost vertical and Sentes still has his hand on him. I would expect that Sentes was just pissed off that he should have won and got pinned instead. (Of course, we don't know if Falck taunted him or something, but if he didn't it wasn't loud enough for the ref to hear and give him a UC.

I was in front row of the stands and saw what happened. After the match Faulk got up and smiled while pushing Sentes in the face and Sentes just smiled probably because he knows how the outcome will be next time. Hell after the match he was already juggling headgear.

This could mean one of two things:
1) Sentes gets furious and goes on a killing spree against him next time.
or
2) Falck realizes that he probably should have gotten beat and puts in some practice time so he doesn't get "handled" again.

Either way it was an awesome match!

I agree with EMU fan. I don't think Falck was taunting or trash talking about his win. If you watch close I think Sentes hits him in the nose right after the pin. I don't think it was dirty by Sentes just frustration about the mistake he made.

I think it is so funny how all these Iowa fans are writing in saying how Falck will kill him next time and talking about Iowa out coaching CMU just because Falck won. Don't get me wrong it was a good win and a good pin. BUT I don't think anyone can argue, if they watch the match, that Sentes owned him, was a better wrestler, and would have easily beat Falck if not for one small mistake. I guess everyone can talk back and forth all they want but Sentes was the better wrestler in that match. I want a rematch to see Sentes win 8-2 :)

Who is Falck kidding getting up and talking smack to Sentes after??? Sentes roped him the whole match...he better get a whole lot better before he wants to act like he's the man. Besides, most of the time the guys who really take care of business out on the mat let their wrestling do the talking rather than running their mouths after a match. I hope Brands tore him a new one after that showing.

Iowa has 4 Olympians - one gold and one bronze, 4 NCAA champs - with the Brands', multiple crowns, for a coaching staff (and let’s not even mention Gable) not sure how to put this without sounding condescending - EVERYONE is going to be outcoached this year.
Can anyone tell me of a coaching staff of this caliper?

My money is on Sentes if there is a next time. He was winning 4-0, actually 5-0 if you count riding time and very close of making it 7-0 before the hail merry throw by falck. You have to give credit to Falck for hanging in the match and wrestling and going for the win.
