Didn't "Mock" just lose a UNC wrestler that transferred to Koll at Cornell? It must really suck at UNC wrestling if someone leaves Chapel Hill to go to Ithaca.

"Stop the Mock"! Coaches are critiqued by results. If UNC wants to be more than a one sided athletic program it must draw the top coaching talent possible in every sport. UNC with the weather, education, girls, facilities should be able to recruit the top wrestlers in the country. If I was a top recruit why would I go to Ames Iowa, Happy Valley, Columbus, or Ithaca. Chapel Hill is by far a better place in this world. I could understand if there were big "Pro" contracts after college and you had to put up with bad surroundings for the big picture. But, other than the WWF there isn't big money in wrestling after college unless your name is Koll or Sanderson.

Conner, Moore, and Lamotta were there before Mock. Didn't Caramonica go to NC State? Rappo had some big wins this year but looked kind of like a dear in head lights at NCAAs as did most of the Tar Heels. The experience that the team got this year will help them next year and so will the new qualifier. They need a solid recruiting class and will be back at the head of the ACC soon enough. Competition is a good thing, its raising the level of the ACC as a whole. Also how did Mock end up doing when he went to UNC, did he die?

a lot of my friends and i joke all the time that UNC is where great PA wrestlers go to die. mock, being originally from council rock high in pennsylvania, does a lot of his recruiting from pa. however, the talent rarely seems to live up to expectations once they arrive at unc. just to name a few, chuckie conner (2x pa state champ), jason lamotta, (1x pa champ, 3x finalist), mike rappo (2x pa state champ), joe carmanica (2x pa champ), and of course, ty moore (4x pa state champ). personally, i blame the poor results on the great weather and beautiful women in north carolina. i know if i were to go there, concentrating on wrestling would be almost impossible.

The "stop the Mock" campaign would be great if CD resigned and the wrestling program would not be "Mocked" anymore in the ACC. I hope the UNC AD brings back some respectability to the program and lost pride.

"Stop the Mock" has started to become a roar rather than a whisper. CD and his stint at UNC as coach has been a large disappointment. Why not offer the Cael Sanderson deal to Rob Koll and get him back to UNC? The tar heels would be national contenders within 2 years if Koll would agree.
