haha, yea, Ruth is so good that he was able to recruit Sanderson to Penn State. ethen's bro can't look at this objectively. He's one of the guys that said Ruth only won the first time because Lofthouse just finished football and was not in shape yet. Keep working on those excuses bro, because you are going to need them. Ruth made your boy look like a takedown dummy TWICE.

are you freakin kiddin me man you dont know anything! I KNOW ethen personally like i said i have been his best friend since i was seven so i know nobody works harder than him and he will be ruth! sanderson came to ethen so many times begging him to go to iowa st. i even met him when he came to our high school for ethen... he wanted ethen so bad cuz he knows he is the best why wasnt he doin that for ruth? hmmm weird!! we will see in the future LOFTHOUSE WILL BE A 4X NATIONAL CHAMPION!!!
Sanderson was very intrested in Ruth. Ruth wanted to stay close to home. Why do you think Sanderson moved?

He didn't do that with Ruth because he already committed to Penn State. Ruth is sick nasty, I didn't think anyone would beat Chris Phillips.

To the person below who says this guy will beat Ruth in 3 years, all I can say is that with Sanderson training this guy (similar style and build) he is going to be absolutely unstoppable. He is going to wreck everyone, including Lofthouse.

the reason ruth won is because he was shooting. lofthouse didnt shoot barely at all. thats the difference.

theres no doubt that ruth was a stud this year but i think he might have to work on his defense a little for college. A lot of times he did those weird counters to some of the kids that i watched him wrestle, and im not quite sure that thats going to work at the next level. However i still expect him to be an animal in college. Penn state now has ruth, wright, and bubba jenkins. Plus with cael coming in they look strong for the future

i cant wait to watch college wrestling in about three years when ethen and ed ruth wrestle again! i know ruth won the first two matches but bein ethen's best friend since i was seven i know he is going to train like a mad man to beat this kid and he WILL beat him when he's wrestling for the hawkes (iowa) and he is over at penn state! call me crazy but NOBODY besides his two brothers raider and rusty know him like i do! sorry ruth!

and if you watch the match ruth didnt push the action at all but it was evident that when ihe was feeling it and actually wanted the takedown he got it

Ed dominated every i mean every match that he has been in...it doesnt matter if he got pinned in te first round of the beast....he got caught...everyone4 gets caught...he was dominating that match till it happened so all of you trying to act like he got killed watch the match and you will know he got caught...next, Ruth is much stronger trust me ive wrestling both and much faster and so much better on his feel....the man is simply unstoppable and it doesnt matter when these two will meet again ruth will win 100% of the time so hop off

Ruth is tough...Lofthouse isn't even the second best wrestler at the weight, Andrew Clement from VA is. the only reason Lofthouse was in the finals is because Clement wasn't on Lofthouse's side at NHSCA. Ruth Beat Clement 3-2 and said himself that it was his toughest match of the year. 4 timer in UTAH, whatever!

where is the person who said Edward Ruth's win over Ethan Lofthouse was a fluke and the reason Lofthouse lost was because he just finished football and was not in wrestling shape?? Perhaps his lose to Ruth at last weekend's Senior nationals was because Lofthlouse has not wrestled since Utah's State tournament and was not in wrestling shape ALSO!! And how did the flowrestling ranking ever list Ruth at #5..defies logic!

not a chance for either of you. i dont care what your ranked, when you and mcintosh can beat chris phillips, then talk. neither of you can do that for sure, so since he lost to ed ruth at this tourney, surely you cant beat ruth.

this match wasn't even close...ruth got 3 takedowns in the first 2 and a half minutes....making the "football" shape a non-issue....It's early in the year for both wrestlers, so I wouldnt really use that as an excuse either...ruth got a takedown on just about every "true" attempt....with lofthouse finishin only 1 takedown, as ruth stopped wrestling to put it on him...how can any of this be debated? This was a dominant performance.... Nothing against lofthouse who is no doubt a top-notch performer.... and who knows how the match is going to end the next time they wrestle...but in this instance ruth truly got the best of him...not debatable

ruth is a super stud. he is a great wrestler, very smoothe and quick, but lets not bash on lofthouse. this kid is an animal, and i too would love to see a rematch between ruth and lofthouse at senior nationals. lofthouse is a very hard worker, and very humble wrestler. ive watched him wrestle for years, and to say he is a show off is way out of line. hes a great kid off the mat as well. the rematch will be a lot closer and i think lofthouse will pull it off.

Ruth lost in the first round at the beast of the east. He got caught in a spladle. Sorry Mike, but Ethan is just flat out overrated and Ruth would beat him again and again and again.

I know Ruth was a stud in PA last year and just couldn't get by Quentin Wright (no shame in that). But now that's he's at Blair, it looks like he's improved greatly. If these two wrestled again, I think we'd see the same winner. And I still want to see the Ruth-Phillips match. I thought he was pretty much unbeatable.

Double on his knees reminds me of Joe Williams. Ruth does not
appear to wrestle any different than when I saw him at NHSCA Jrs.
He will be tough to beat this season.

You can see Chris Philips in the mat to the left wrestling for 3rd.
I thought for sure he was gonna win it..

Ruth seems much more technically sound and big time than Quentin Wright. I surprises me that he could never get by him in the Pennsylvania State tournament.
