I think they will. PA has megaludis, mike rhone, sherlock, kindig, both altons, lear,havers, evans,ruth, demott, and craig who can all go AA out at fargo this year.
Shore Thing White ( NEW JERSEY ) won the NHSCA East Coast National Wrestling Duals beating 2 PA all-star teams one in semis 34-30 SEPA Blue,then in the finals another PA all-star team Young Guns Black 47-12.
I now live in Shamong so I read about you in the Burlington Times. It's been fun since I know you from meeting you at C J Davie's house on LBI.. I watched you on TV Last night.Sorry , you couldn't quite get the best of your opponent. I just enjoyed hearing your video today.. Good luck to you !!!!!

new jersey is the best. hands down. only one state champ, best wrestlers around the country in colleges right now, and toughest teams in the nation; P burg, Blair, jackson, southern. you cant mess w/ dirty jersey!
Tell me why ohio and pa have the most ncaa all americans and ncaa champs. At juniors and cadets they are the most dominant teams. Listen the big states are ohio, pa, new york, oklahoma, and maybe illinios, they are coming on.
California=800 schools in one bracket
Pennsylvania= >400 schools in 3 brackets
New Jersey= >400 schools in one bracket
bottom line is the math. the more competition the harder it gets. California is the toughest, but new jersey is a close second. and Pennsylvania has the wrestling culture that lacks in new jersey and California, but there is no competition compared to California and new jersey. being from California i was a match away from making the state tournament. and at a camp i went to over that summer i wrestled a state champ from idaho, and he was a scrub compared to champs here in california. im not saying that this is always the case, but this may be an explanation for why california and new jersey are so good compared to other states.
I think jersey is representing pretty well in the ncaa this year...Burroughs(winslow township) Caldwell(Rahway) Mike Grey(Delbarton) Franklin Gomez(St. Augastine before he went to Brandon) Tanelli(Milburn) Conroy(South Plainfield) Winston(Jackson) Scotton(Willingsboro) Sickles(Bergen Catholic) Galante(Ocean City) Vallimont(Jefferson) Caruso(Watchung Hills) Giffen(Eastern) Umbehaur(Lenape) Vince Jones(Winslow) Spellman(Kittatiny) Zabriske(High Point) Dudziak(St. Peters) Zach Rey(Hopatcong) these are just the ranked guys...many more who could be ranked im sure
wow - all these comments on this video - the Tri-state area definately has great following!!! - for me - Gobroncs and go NJ, NY, PA - tri-state (anyone else want to join)???!
it shouldnt even be as close as it is considering jersey has nearly 4 million less people and 3 mill less than ohio, especially since all three are wrestling states and none of them have any dead areas in the wrestling sense. in a ratio of how many people wrestle, jersey is far better.
Any wrestler that makes it to the college level let alone the National level must be good. It means they all work hard regardless of what state they live in. Get over the state issue and give credit to all the wrestlers. I would like to see some of you make it to that level.
The wrestlets were having fun get. GET IT...fun in the midst of a lot of hard work....
I know each person will say their state has the best but I have been to various states and Ohio wrestling in all is far better than NJ wrestling. Yes there would be some NJ wrestlers that would do great in Ohio also but across the board Ohios best vs NJ best Ohio would dominate. But best of luck to all wrestlers no matter what state you are from.
Geeze, what's the big deal? The guy is having fun and joking around and you tightwads get your damn panties in a bunch! Of course he is going to say Jersey is better! You PA JV guys think you are so much better, he just has the balls to say it!
Herbert! In that case Metcalf is the best which must mean that Michigan is the best, or wait Askren was a two time Hodge winner so Wisconsin must be the best.
All these video's were trying to get across is how great of a team (and school) rider is - as long as you want to work hard and be friends with your teammates, and have your professors know your name. Doug is doing nothing more than having fun with his teammates (and of course, saying how much he loves the Rider wrestling program)!!
please, nj may have been better than ohio the last two years. But historically and even just three years ago, nj paled in comparison to the talent produced in ohio and pa.
ohio isnt even in this discussion. umbehaur is a good representative of nj but hes not the lone rep.if you want to go into other number ones, why dont you take a gander at 41 and 57.
youre crazy. pascack hills won the team title every year and voorhees didnt even show one of the times after they lost so many years in a row. i dont even need to listthe alumni, but together they take it to pa.
This dude was from the same region as me in high school, he was tough. I went to college in Pennsylvania though, so I was always outnumbered on the state vs. state debate.
Doug Umbehauer used to be the kid that ran around growling at people during tournaments and practice. He began wrestling at a young age and grew up wrestling in New Jersey. Doug believes that New Jersey is the toughest state in the country and explains why here. He also talks about his college career and the three births to the NCAAs. February 19, 2009

PA and Ohio are about the same in my opinion, both depth wise and talent wise. Just look at NCAA results year in and year out.
