What happend to Tucker? I see he didnt make it to the national tournament? I remember watching him at senior nationals wrestle sanderson in the finals, great match. I saw him being at least a 4 time national qualifier.

I really don't see what playing 2 sports and tutoring have to do with whether they've wrestle or not. Sounds like you're making excuses for Jason. I don't think he would do that, I think he would just learn from his mistakes and beat the guy later on down the road. I've watched Jason wrestle since his freshman year and the kid has a great future but alot of people have already put him in the Olympics (in their minds). Let him grow into the wrestler he's going to be. He's had a great true freshman year and he's ranked just about where he should, if he pulls off a couple upsets, he could be an all-american. Go Jason!!!

I believe Clay Tucker will progress rapidly as the season. I feel by the end of the yr hes a ncaa qualifier that reaches the round of 12

Welch was very defensive. Clay needed to attack double legs to keep from getting freestyled. Clay is a very good wrestler and this year I think he will turn some heads. I'm biased though. He was cutting too much weight last year. Clay is no slouch. He is currently ranked #1 in the MAC and was a High School National runner-up. He lost to Cyler Sanderson 10-9 in the finals.

Hey Jc does that stand for Jesus Christ?????? What's your wrestling
back ground???? Whats up with the Grape Juice comment.Jason must of beaten you or one of your relatives at some point in his young career. He's a true Freshman.Student Athelete.I belive he wrestled at 160 his senior year and went undefeated. He looked a little thin,I thought he did OK hiw got a win.
He'll only get better. All you haters, beware. He's won at every level, and he'll win an NCAA title, maybe 2 or 3.Can anybody tell me whats his record this season? Thank You.Go Jason!!!!!!

I haven't watched very much of welch. In the first I thought maybe he was just a good mat wrestler. now I just think he isn't good enough to be an AA in college yet. He didn't do anything at all, and
tucker got to his leg 3 times in the first. why didn't he try and score?

Welch better get a little more aggressive and not score on defensive takedowns in college or its lights out for Grape Juice boy.

hmm that was somewhat sloppy wrestling by welch. Postioning was just not what i would expect from him. Look for the improvement by end of the season with it, he'll be up there!

I was very impressed by Welch. The level of intensity change from HS to college is tremendous. I thought he wrestled a controlled, well-planned match. He was never in any trouble. For this single match, I was very impressed with this true freshman.

I think his ability to wrestle strong and tough wrestlers went down. He got pin in 56 sec. Winston took third but also came back to beat the guy who beat him early in the tournement. He didn't get pinned like welch. I'm a huge welch fan. I hope he learns from his mistakes and comes out better next week.

Winston also lost a match that same weekend. He took 3rd in a tournament Rutgers was wrestling in.

I Have to agree w/ welch's GJ. He didn't look like himself. Still great show for his first tournament in college. Just wish he didn't get pinned in the finals. Welches cred to beat Winston went down. But I'm still a believer.

Welch looked realy skinny here compared to how he looked at the Dream Team dual. He looked tired and slower than usual too and didn't take as many shots like he usually does. JMO.
