missing 25 pounds or so from leg missing........... so body of a 149 or 157 pounder maybe???? EXACTLY.

So we create a disparity so that a handicapped wrestler can wrestle? Bull! It should be mandatory he stand upright so that a normal take down can be initiated! Feel bad for the guy who have a handicap going against a handicapped wrestler.

How strong is Robles? I would like to talk to some of his opponents for there feedback. He lifts and returns obe to the mat with one leg. His arms and back are incredibley strong. Once he's in tils positions it's almost a done deal. We are talking Div. I college wrestling. Amazing. Way to adapt and overcome. I just hope he doesn't wreck his hip and knee with overuse/over compensation. Also when he is caught underneath a sprawl he doesn't have both knees to support or help with a base. The consequence is a lot of pressure on his low back. He is very creative with his adaptation. Smart and athletic. In interviews presents as a very classy young man.

anthony robles is a god wrestler and he is one of my favorite wrestlers but i think a good way to score on him would be to shoot when he first try to go to his knee

This is amazing to watch.

Wouldn't proper strategy be to run around behind him? Even if you don't get there, you tire out his arms.
There used to be a rule that if you wrestled a BLIND wrestler, you were required to be in contact w/ him at all times. I wonder if that would apply to a one-legged wrestler. I mean, how much mobility can he have?

If he had his leg he would be a natural 149--scary thing is he would even better..but it does ask the question does the lack of a leg actually make him more mobile? Especially on bottom?

how and the hell can you even wrestle somebody like that. you cant even do nething, all you do is let him shoot on you and it cant be to hard for him to get in on a leg, when all hes does is run backwards.

I have wrestled an opponent who was missing a leg (from birth) in Robles same scenario. He was in my conference and I watched and competed against him many times over the years. I can say in my scenario that there were many matches he won in part because he had "differences" that had not been encountered before. Everyone he ever wrestled had two legs but almost none of his opponents had ever faced his unique scenario. Opponents would spend 80% of the time trying to figure out how to to attack a larger opponent who remains almost prone to the mat. The #1 glaring difference you face when wrestling an opponent with one leg is the superhuman grip and forearm strength of a larger man who uses those limbs disproportianately on a daily basis. I am not afraid to state that my opinion is that he has an advantage the first or second time you wrestle him, there is no way to prepare for those scenarios. I think the one-legged wrestler has a disadvantage after he faces the same competition multiple times and strategies are developed to attack and counter. Truly a unique scenario and truly Robles and those wrestling with these differences are special and inspiring individuals.
