Sonny has been a great ambassador for freestyle, greco and women's wrestling. The NYAC has some of the greatest coaches in the world who provide their time and expertise without compensation to nurture and develop talented wrestlers simply because they have a passion for the sport.
Sonny has been instrumental in making this possible.

Sonny was always a great figure to have around Long Island wrestling. Back in HS in the 70's he was always nice to all of us no matter what level we were at in wrestling.

Sunny was willing to give a low level guy like my self a shot and work with the top coaches in the world. He didnt say know even after i was out for sometime doing other things you should never talk down abotu a man who is willing to listen to others and find a way to get hose gys on the mat. I never even wrestled college but i still was able to get into Sunnys ear and he was able to see the level of wrestling and commitment that people are willing to give to a sport where some who arent the best can become the best. Thnaks Sunny for the faith you had in guys like me.

I can only hope with that faith i can make it pay off!

if you walked in the front door you better be wearing a shirt and blazer because if not right back out you go... the first time i went there i screwed up and went in the front then they told me athletes in the back. the other thing is good luck finding a shirt they really only give them to coaches and wrestlers it took a while before i started getting stuff
