Mike Za, and the USA, deserved the wildcard at this weight. Give me a break.......China, 7 wild cards.......too funny. Yes, Mikey, did not get it done in the qualifiers (and he is not a great public speaker, but he did win the silver medal at the Worlds. Fila, and the former eastern block countries control the wild cards......so of course they will try to take a medal away from the US. He (WE) would have had a medal.
Why are you guys jumping on Za? I am not a huge fan of his, but he didnt say or do anything wrong in this interview - Martin asked a question that Za didnt want to answer. The guy had just got done winning the Olympic Trials, and Martin asked a fairly negative question - Za shouldnt have to talk about negativity after such a positive performance. I think Za was very candid and sounded intelligent in this entire interview.

Za you didnt wrestle all of the qualifiers to get the weight qualified so whos fault is all of that shoulder some of the blame here buddy maybe someone will feel mercy and give you the wild card birth it's too bad you didnt get it done to begin with at the qualifiers

Travis broke a vertebrae in his neck about one year ago. It was not situation where his mobility was threatened, but he had multiple doctors tell him that he would be foolish to continue to compete. Quite a shame being that he was the Shultz Invite champ that year and a runner-up in the NYAC invite.
I don't know where people get off judging somebody that is a World Silver Medalist. He wants to win the Gold medal and will do whatever he has to in order to get there. People that judge and hate on him should reflect back on their own life and see how much they have accomplished. I don't care what he looks like, or what he says, he wants to win and works harder than any of you idiots judging him!
