mango gave up at the end and tyler kept the pressure on only the strong survive and win great job tyler excellent conditioning good match overall I give it ^ out of a possible 10
tyler usally brings his A game against top opponents. we will see how things shake out over the course of the year. one thing i know is ,never, i mean never count tyler out of a match that has national implecations. the cream always rises to the top!!!!
these guys look like they weigh about 130. whatever happened to the rules about only being able to cut down one weight class below what you initially weigh at the beginning of the season?
Mango is a solid wrestler but Tyler has beat him every time they have wrestled so far !!Molina140 should probably catch up with recent news ! Cox beat him twice this weekend at the FILA Jr. World team trials !!!
BJ woulda coulda shoulda been there, but he wasn't why? David Taylor wasn't why? Possibly when youre ranked number one there is the little bit of doubt and chance of losing that ranking ??
Mango was not ripped on a takedown, ther were times both wrestlers almost scored, there was two refs who officiated the match and neither thought as you ! I think the officiating was excellent on this match!!
Great match! Super activity from the feet. Cox simply WON the match. That much time on top unanswered by Mango was too bad to see from such a great wrestler.
Sounds like a couple of nobodys that didn't even show up to wrestle have nothing better to do than dog the two great wrestlers that did. Where were you at? Sitting at home using chpstick and lollipops on each other?
Sunshine, Youre an idiot, it wasn't a Gillette ref when Tyler beat Shelstad he was actually from South Dakota and Cox doninated that match from the start and got caught doing a latteral drop, cudos to Shelstad for stopping one move the whole match ! How many National Champions did Flatthead have this year ?? NONE !!! Cox has beat every Montana wrestler he has ever faced in High school. Close doesn't cut it ! MEOW MEOW MEOW YOUR AN IDIOT! MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW YOUR AN IDIOT MEOW MEOW !!!
I too saw that match with cox and shelstad. Good thing for gillette refs and vaseline to rub on those shoulders for eeking across the mat after that lat drop
Cox hell of a win but i seem to remember you getting nearly stuck by a havre boy (shelstad) at the Weede and also Flathead (again from MT) crushed the camel team.
tyler you do not get nearly the credit you deserve but beleive me the good college coaches are watching. Great job!
PS. Work on getting big for 125 lbs. in a couple of years man.
Mikey J, it seems like the Camel Kids of Gillete has a top notch wrestling club. Congrats to Cox and his club in helping him develop into the wrestler that he is.
Funny, how many regard any state west of Iowa and east of California as subpar.
If you look at the past 5-6 years at the rocky mtn. area has produced numerous National champs from Fargo and other well known tournaments. Mustari,Yohn,Graff,Cox,Chamberlain, and Hall to name a few....
t, Wyoming has had several ALL Americans and if you figure it out per cap we are right up there with the bigger states some years. Jarred Hatley is another who has several All American performances ! Camel Kids of Gillette brought twelve kids to USA Nationals last year and had 3 champions and one third ?? Lets face it if your not east of the Mississippi you sometimes get over looked !!
Tyler Cox your fans are proud of you! I don't think you get all the accolades that you deserve. As it has already been mentioned Wyoming is not on the radar for many things, but this only goes to show how dedicated your are to the sport and your success. I'm am positive great things are to come for you in the future. The community is luck to have such a great role model. I have no doubt with his, and the many other wonderful coaches, Wyoming will be represented in force in the future.
I have never questioned his wrestling talent. In my opinion Tyler Cox does get respect. I was not aware that Gillete is a big wrestling town. Thanks for the info. He just seems to stand out being that Wyoming generally does not have many individuals that make big impact on the national scene like he does.
mikey j, lets face it, Wyoming is not nearly one of the top wrestling states. Apparently Cox has good coaching and I guess in a big wrestling town like you stated. Again, great future for Cox, he is really exciting to watch.
OOPS Tyler has now won 4 National Championships now ! To win those he has beat, Ryan Mango, David Taylor {won several national championships }, Andrew Long{signed with Iowa State}, and Gerald Germanie. Also got hosed in the Super 32 finals against Rappo{ranked #1 103 }
Wyoming is more of a wrestling state than you know we just dont get any respect ! Gillette is a big wrestling town. Jeff Wood from Gillette another 4x state champ nobody beat Napier in the finals in Iowa last year. David Taylor was from Wyoming before moving to Ohio,{Cox pinned him in the finals in Fargo 3 years ago} Cox shouldnt be a no name after winning 3 national tournaments but to many he is . He gets that way because he works hard and loves wrestling ! Dont forget Olympians David Zuniga, and Rulon Gardner are also from Wyoming !
WOW best match i have ever seen (due to the srambling and not giving anything up) but somebody had to win Cox and Mango did a great job....Definately match of the event
No offense to Wyoming, but for a state that is so spread out and not really known to be a great wrestling state, this kid is a real stud. How does he keep improving at the rate that he does? Cox is the real deal, could be a great college wrestler.
Awesome match From both of these GREAT wrestlers !! Best damn match I have seen ever ! What great scrambling from both these athletes and never stopped the whole match ! Congratulations to our TY COX from the Camel Kids Wrestling Club !
NOW, HONESTLY, How can anyone not see why Cox should be #2 in the nation behind David Taylor. You all saw such a great display of technique and athleticism that is virtually unstoppable.....hehehe great wasn't it?
Those of us that know Cox, know he is the real deal. I live about 90 miles away from him and get to see him wrestle a couple times each year. Definitely for real!
Coaches should show this video to their kids. This video hits on several aspects of wrestling. Scrambling out the ass, wrestling the edge, motion, handfighting, chain wrestling, etc, etc
Very good counter wrestlers from neutral. Many times where it looked like one or the other was going to score a takedown, and not takedown due to good defense and counters. Good job both wrestlers.
