Not broken ankle but torn ligaments.
I had torn the knee ligaments with very sharp pain but could do it on pain for short time on adrenaline. But it was painful for quite a while. Later on, it turned numb after few hours. It felt like as if the nerves disconnected.

Didn't think J Jaggers could do it but it was less than 20 seconds left so, he had to carry himself. Gutsy.

check how jaggers wrestled after he "broke" his ankle. he seemed to move pretty well out there. even when your pumped up you still would not be able to wrestle like jaggers did if you broke your ankle

Mendes is a scumbag. Thankfully, I will never coach him again. I hope his MMA career is successful as I'm sure it will be with joint locks like that. He gives wrestling a bad name.

My apologies to jaggers - Now I am really impressed. He got up from his indjury time out, finished the remaining 30 seconds of the match, walked off the mat and did a couple interviews all on a broken ankle. wow. amazing. almost UNBELIEVABLE....

I don't think anyone has problem with screaming when you get hurt. Its sceaming for another minute at the top of their lungs that is the issue. Sorry but thats acting.

for everyone calling jaggers and perry actors for screaming out, what would you have liked them to do? allow their knee/ankle to be obliterated and not say a word cause thats "what real man would do"? would you like them to say "excuse me ref but i do believe my knee/ankle is about 3 seconds away from no longer functioning"? hell no, they need to get outta there and they need the ref to believe it. there comes a point where personal safty outweighs appearnce.

If Mendes would have taken him down in 2nd he would not have taken that shot in the 3rd or it would have forced Jaggers to take shot. Outcome would have been different. Sorry for the retarded comment...

What ??? ---------v   March 25, 2008 at 7:37pm
So then jaggers get 2 2 backs and wins 5-3 and if he lets him up for 1 Jaggers still wins 5-4. How did the ref takes the title for Mendes ? Did the ref take em down and put him on his back....ummmm....no ! some of these comments are retarded.

CHAD SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN THE 2 FOR THE TAKEDOWN IN THE END OF SECOND PERIOD.AND WOULD HAVE LED 3TO 1 AFTER HIS ESCAPE IN 3RD PERIOD, AND IT WOULD HAVE BEEN JAGGERS BEHIND 3TO 1 TRYING TO GET A TAKEDOWN IN LAST PERIOD.ITS REALLY A SHAME THE REF TOTALLY BLEW THAT CALL AND TOOK THE TITLE FROM MENDES

Check out the pictures on amatuerwrestlingphotos.com. I do not if his ankle is broken but a picture is worth a thousand words.....ankles do not go at those angles. I think Mendez was getting a headstart on his MMA career. No tapouts baby!!

insidetrip - when is the last time you heard someone scream like that who wasn't being attacked with a knife? Both him and perry were overacting. I'm not saying he wasn't hurt - but he wasn't as hurt as he played and he definitely did not break his ankle. Also, for the record, I think Jaggers deserved to win. I personally would have given up the take down instead of screaming like a girl to stop the match but hey - thats me.

When Jagger screamed, he was in a stailmate position, not close to giving up points. Jr, punk. Mendes was looking to pull a cheap shot because he was desperate. Thanks, Jaggers, for being a well-spoken, intelligent champ. Ohio wrestling is movin' up.

Just an observation - when I tore the ligaments in my ankle I - 1) did not scream like a little girl and 2) could NOT walk afterward no matter how much I tried. Jaggers was acting and it sealed the win for him. 10 years from now no one will rember him screaming to stop the match - they will just know he was an NCAA champion.

Congrats J! Way to scream like a b*tch in order to save yourself from getting reversed and put on your back. You have recovered amazingly from that "broken ankle." Sleep well tonight my friend... sleep well.
