you know whats sad? a bunch of people hiding under fake names and ripping on kids.. Give the kid a F****** break. the dude earned all four think about coming down to that last match of highschool hes obviously nervous. give the other kid credit but seriosly he got a few lucky headlocks or caught tony out of posistion but tony is obviously the better wrestling he doesnt even look tired or out of shape he coulda went another 6 minutes with that kid
that should have been a pin
but the refs. this year
I heard had a meeting about not calling as many pins
because the refs. up here in wisconsin are the same way
f.uck off maggie you dirty w.hore i will never ever date you so quit tryin to defend me. PLain and simple i lost this match to a black man, a frickin black man..........his weener is big ALSO but anyway guess what guys.....?? maggie has an eyebrow that connects ear to ear.
This ref would have loved nothing more than to call this pin...it would have made history. No one has won state their Freshman, Sopre and Junior year..and not won their senior. There are TWO refs..they would have called it. All you guys hiding behind your screen names and talking smack about my boy TJ are pathetic.
he was so pinned at 3:00 minutes. mr tony jameson got pinned in the first round and still managed to make the finals and win it all. horrible horrible officiating.
Sorry tony but you were pinned..........numerous times. It is okay though you're a 3 time D1 state champion in my mind, not 4. You impressed me alot Rudy, good luck to you in the future young man.
Hey BOB..I am a ref too and shame on YOU~ Deal with it and shut the f**ickin up people...man...people still posting over a MONTH LATER!!!???/ Get a life... He looked pinned but the REF had the best angle and as it was stated before he was the type of ref that would have extolled..."Yeah...I ref'd that match" if asked about Jameson getting pinned. He didn't...and wasn't. Quit crying.
Having watched a 4 wrestlers get to the 4x plateau in the last 5 years, I have never watched 43 points scored in a match enroute to a 4th state championship. Tony is great for excitement but he CLEARLY escaped with his fourth...his transition to the college ranks might be a rocky one.
yw rudy, you totally beat me like way, you are the gnarliest wrestler ever. Not because your black but because you tossed me around the entire match, furthermore you pinned me a half dozen times but the ref felt the pressure, he knew what was on the line dawg..he knew i was a few steps away from makin history. Did you get the trophy in the mail yet?
never got him. watched it thirty times. always thought the third was closest, but tony j was most flat, in retrospect, the second time. and to come out with a reversal on that turn is no small thing. his right arm was shot after that first near. watch his succeeding rounds. but here's the beauty: he's down 20-18 going into the third in neutral. moreover, it's 20-20 with hendon down (obvious advantage) with less than thirty seconds to go and jameson throws in a flying cradle. what a match! never heard that type of crowd anywhere in wrestling. long live the the myth of the tony j! what true champions do. find a way to win.
ty tony i appreciate the comments, if i ever find that ref who screwed me over, i will first introduce myself, shake his hand and squeeze until his hand shatters, then throw him into a wall and as soon as he lands on the ground i will stomp him until he admits he made a mistake. just kiddin tony, i would never do such a thing.
Dude astin get a grip............ get a grip on your spelling, remove the blindfold covering your eyes, ok? Now press play and watch me get pinned over and over....I know ur a big fan of me but look at this match from an objective point of view, Rudy Rudy Rudy pinned me. Now soon i will forfeit my championship to this fine young gentleman.
I actually think Tony was pinned more than once. I think there is a level of denial, as well as fear of crowd disapproval (political ramifications), when a ref witnesses the defeat of a champion and choses to pretend it isn't happening. It's like the truth is there, suspended in mid air for a few seconds, and because everyone is shocked, they pretend it isn't happening. In this case, I can't help but wonder if subliminal racism was also at play. It's a shame, really, that Rudy was robbed of his championship. He is clearly the stronger opponent and the victor. Hopefully, he knows in his heart that he won, and the refs biases prevented them from affirming that truth. All I have to say is this: God, forgive them, they know not what they do.
I've always enjoyed watching Jameson,,,,but if he wasn't pinned with the head lock , nobody has ever been pinned,,,i'm looking forward to watching him at OSU,,,,
you know u all have really big mouths if u have something worth while to talk about crawl up my a$$ a fight ffor that air cause i have no egrets i shouldve been there but i scrwed up so i guess you lame asses are right i cant say anything
Another thing i am not jealous of some guy who wines during a match give me a break. I wrestle for 11 years like i said he was pinned clearly. IF he was so hurt why did he finish the match. Oh i cant breath but i can talk. Lame crap!!!!
Check this out i wrestled for Defiance and i would be a REF we will see how good he is when he faces up with Jaggers Palmer they were the real deal. Put Tony Jameson up in their shoes. HE was on his back more than 2 seconds are you kidding me if you were my ref we would have some problems cause he was in my opinion flatter than a pancake. And wat about when he sissyied his way out off his back before his should of been pin. Crappy call you have to be fare he clearly was pinned watch the videeo again. Tell me the results......
None of you know for sure if he was flat on his back... And let me remind you that a pin is "two seconds". I've been an official for voer 27 years and I have had so many close matches just like this one, but the kids just wasn't down for the full "two". 1 1/2 secs flat on the back is flat, but not a fall.
It was a bad call and the ref knows it Tony JAmeson is the worst 4x State Champ that i ever seen HE just though he could walk in this and come up top with no problem. I am ashammed of that Reff and in he should be fired. Great match Rudy.
Match was oddly reffed, both wrestlers looked stuck to me, but who has the best look in the house, and what ref is gonna call a pin on a potential 4 timer? ref probably made the right call, hendon looked stuck to me to at the end
i guess we will never find out unless they meet head to head but i would say even if tony was pinned he was definitely the best wrestler in that weight because despite all the stupid things he did to get pinned he clearly could have scored on these kids without a problem for example at brecksville tony scored three easy takedowns on toal but he messed around too much and did something stupid and got caught
that was a great match and i think the first two were definately not pins the third could have went either way in my eyes i think the ref made the right call and let the match continue
not taking anything away from jameson, but he was pinned and there were refs that said he was pinned. Great wrestler got caught in the state tourney and got the free pass for three time state champs going for their fourth. It happens get off the kids back he would more than likely dominate anyone on this message board.
Just Watching In The Audience March 8, 2008 at 7:49am
I was sitting in the 1st section. The mat they were wrestling on was directly in front of me. The first time Rudy pinned Jameson was questionable. The next two times Jameson was on his back there was NO QUESTION that he was pinned!!! Rudy Hendon won this match. He WAS robbed! We'll see how Tony does in college. I think it will be fun to see him get beaten...like it was fun to watch here.
tony's style is his own.you people don't get it.his style scares you guy's.it goes against everything you've been taught.that seems to make you all upset.
i don't think he cares what you all think.if you think his style is slopy get on the matt with him and prove it.i know alot of wrestlers who talk crap like you guys, then after he kicks you're butt, you have a change of heart.ohio state seems to like his style.since you guys are the real experts, you should take over ohio states program.if he was pinned it would have been called.there are two ref's on the mat.and you're telling me you have a better view than them.if you ask me you all are jelly belly's.
he was pinned all 3 times i'm not saying he is a bad wrestler i am saying he was stuck but he is a 4x now but he knows how close he was to 3 state titles and a 3rd place maybe ya dig?
Call this young man what ever you want, just make sure you add "4 time D1 State Champ"at the end.I have never seen so much buzz about a wrestler, both negative and positive.Hopefully,he takes all the negative stuff in stride and continues to go out and have fun,and of course win for the Bucks.According to some of the posts, that match was the biggest conspiracy since Kennedy got shot.Ridiculous.
Its ok Tony ill join u in 2 years as a 4x state champ and hopefully ill be undefeated unlike u except in this match u were pinned even tho the refs didnt call it u told me that after u got done remember...anyways love ya dude cya in a couple years at OSU
Jameson was clearly pent...but the reff knew in order for tony to go down in history for being a 4 time state champ, he had to win this match.clearly bs
Wade Boggs never got called strikes,Michael Jordan never travelled.Good players get the calls and in boxing you usually have to knock out a champ, decisions are hard to come by.I saw TJ at districts and I have to say he is the most entertaining wrestler I have seen.Absolutely fearless technician who gets out of the stickiest situations.Calling him a chump or punk or the other names I have seen is just ridiculous.Rudy wrestled his heart out and deserves credit for that.Congratulations on 4X D1 titles.
look at it this way cant beat em cheat em and anyways jaminson is the best out there. and i am a wiger to. it dont matter how you dress as long as you win. right jaminson. i see you around. and good lick in college. i wish i was half as good as you. yourboy jonboy.
that stuff isnt going to work in college and david taylor do u have any state championships thats cool and all that tj has all that but he is just going to have to change his style.
the first thing you learn in wrestling is to not reach back. look at what he does at about 1:46. thats a 6th grade mistake. i dont get how he can do stuff like that and still be so good
you cant really see his shoulders from the view we had, but in Jameson's defense...that cradle had the other kid stuck to, stuff swings both ways, but anyone who scores 20 points on a 4 timer, dont cut yourself short
dude man hendon destroyed jamieson i dont care what the out come is anyone who can score 20 points on jamieson is a great wrestler i must say on that headlock he looked pinned
dont matter if he was pinned he is a 4 time champ now and he wasnt pinned the first22 times for surei was on the floor he was never pinned the ump was lookin atit for ever if he was he would have slapped the mat he is a great kid watchhis intervew he is nicer i meant him one time
tony j is not a chump i watched him lose at top gun to a bad lst secound call and he got up and dealt with it with some pride, not many wereslter who help the person up that they just lost to
He does not even looked to be pinned he might be on his back but just because someone is on there back does not mean they are pinned. great job tony it was fun back in the 419
the thing that pisses me off is that if you put someone on their back three times and you still cant beat them then obviously the other guy is better and everyone acts like this is some travesty. Jameson got put on his back three times and still won the match. He wasnt pinned or the ref would have called it. he is a much better wrestler than hendon.
it doenst matter he beat him so
everyone just needs to get over it:]
hes a great wrestler and ppl just need to get over that fact that he cant be stoped
Tony showed a different aspect of his wrestling, the ability to fight from his back,it's ironic with all his offense that this aspect saved him!!!!!!!!!!!And thats not the only time I have seen him do that....Rudy is a stud!!!!!and will always be remembered for his great effort!!!!!!!!I will miss watching Tony my kid has been one of his teamates and drilling partner since J.H..Good luck to both boys in the future. You did it kid!!!!!!!!!!! 4xxxx! 4xxx! 4xxxx! 4xxxx!
As an official, all I can say if I wish I had a dollar for every time everyobody in the gym told me somebody was pinned when i could clearly see they were not. 1 part of both sides of the pinning area for 2 consecutive seconds that you can see. Easy call to make from the stands but in folk, there are not touch falls. BTW, I find it extremely unprofessional for any official to "off the record" say he was pinned.
I saw the match from the 100's and sorry to say he was pinned. ask the reporters who where up close it was obviouse. the ref let it go though, it is like calling a stalling call in overtime it doesn't happen very often! why because the ref doesn't want to take the heat. either way good job jameson but you were pinned

it think the worst things that happened because of this are:
1)poor rudy couldn't come back mentally from the match in time for his next one
2)I'm not saying jameson was pinned, or not pinned it's just sad that some people are acting like it was HIS fault the refs wouldn't call it, he's just out their wrestling, not refereeing
By the way...stopping the match was for wrestler safety....obviously Hendon's forearm was tight across Jameson's throat and corroughted artery which is potentially dangerous. Realistically - look at both the first and 2nd time Jameson goes to his back. He is NOT pinned and the ref didn't even get down FLAT to his back and his EAR on the mat. Now at the end, Ref's ear is too the mat and I assume it was pretty close then...but not a fall or it would've been called. NOW if Hendon's technique was a little bit 'tighter' he may have pinned Jameson. Excellent match w/ two "SCRAPPER's" and the better scrapper won. I saw NOTHING wrong with the match and NO ONE can say he WAS pinned because the RESULT is all the matters. He is a 4 time state champ now and congrats to him and the BG kid.
Wonderful, competitive match. Congrats to Jameson and the BG kid was SO close...but hey...all you folks who sat behind us quit whining...Jameson has always taken risks...and this video proves Hendon was out of position to pin him...the only time it even looked CLOSE to a pin was @ the end in the head & arm. The ref had the BEST angle in the whole place...so deal with it. It WAS A SLOPPY MATCH...good call...Congrats to Jameson, but he did not look his best...and the BG kid career'd.
My guess the booing happened for a couple of reasons:
a. We expect a 4X State Champ to dominate!
b. It was an extremely sloppy match!
c. While most refs. are darn good, the fans know that some would be reluctant to call a pin a pin on a potential 4xer. Note he looked awful pinned from the 200s section during the semis as well:)
wow how can u boo a 4 timer it was close to getting pinned but the video had so bad angles and think of it from a refs postion would u want to be the ref tht called a pinn against a four time state champ lol
whoever the smart guy who tried to act like tj is you should have at least tried to make it believable by not posting your comment during the finals on sat . . . actually i think that was right around the time of tony's finals match
You have to give it to Rudy for wrestling one heck of a match, probably the most exciting of the torny, of course your going to have to expect the ref's to be slow to call the pin on a 3 time state champ, But if i had to wrestling TJ, Puting him on his back 3 times would be the best memory if my wrestling career
TJ is hands down the most exciting wrestler in O-H-I-O! To have the moxy, cool and confidence that He does at his age is to be admired. As far as this match goes unless You're down there You'll never know. Why do You think the Refs lay down and put an ear on the mat? You can't do that from the stands or a video! Hats off to TJ Congrats x 4! You've been a lot of fun to watch!
As far as Refs influencing outcomes...oh yeah. Happens all year long. They're human so not a damn thing You can do about it. That's life, people do it at their work everyday. That's why wrestling is the greatest sport there is. It teaches these kids more about life and themselves than any other. The best You can hope for is that They realize it and learn.
well, he definitely wasn't pinned the first two times. the third is harder to see. actually, hendon looks pinned at the end -- he's certainly on his back longer. oh well. tony j ... a showman to the end.
coach should have greased the refs a lil better than snapping a picture on his cell phone. point, scream, yell, "hes pinned!!!" for christ sake was John Smith wrestling on the next mat??
haters and gym class heroes.... i wonder if BOTH refs on the mat were incompitent or if all you bug eyed bozo's on here have it right...oh my bad you were all sitting at home while tony got 1st place at the Super 32 in greensboro north carolina and went through a 100 man bracket to get first place..
tsk tsk tsk...all second rate gym class heroes....tony still won more matches on accident than all u punk haters added up together
What would we do without flowrestling? thanks for bringing it first. this state has freaks. Now that the south or the state has caught up to the north it really is beyond tough, took you long enough but were glad you made it. Hey, St. Paris Graham if you run the table like St. Ed's has then will talk dynasty. until them rember who set the bar for you to chase.
Hey, I was pinned. Oh well, I will still go on to college and slap some kids in the head with my ****. Pfffft, any time you want to step on the mat i'll show you how big of a show I can put on.
Let's see, Ohio has Dustin Schlatter, Ryan Lang and Dustin Fox all ranked #1 in their college weight classes. Ohio also has C.P. Schlatter, J.D. Bergman and Lance Palmer who are all top ranked wrestlers. OH has twice as many senior national team titles than the next closest school. Keep dreaming that your state can hang.
pffft- Is that why the top teams in the country (St. Paris Graham and Lakewood St. Edward) are in Ohio. Not to mention Ohio is the top prodcuing state along with Pennsylvania and New Jersey of college All-Americans.
This has nothing to do with who the best wrestler was or is, or who you like, who you don't like, who's going for thier fourth state chapionship, what you think of referee's, Jameson was pinned.
Just wondering but did anyone see the first period of this match. It looks to be 15-7 at the beginning of this video was that from Jameson taking him down then letting him up? If so it looks that Jameson earned this win. Maybe Rudy should have wrestled in te 1st period
what is amazing is who are you to make a comment on jameson. tough bowling green kid wasn't better....if you score 20pts and get beat, you blew a heck of a chance. you never let your wins come down to a referees discresion. and i've let refs decide big matches for me, and it was never in my favor
1) as a former OH wrestling coach I want to say than you to flowrestling for putting the video up to go along with the match comments on jjhuddle.
2)WOW
3) For those who think Jameson is in for a rude awakening in college you must not realize that he does wrestle in national tournaments and holds his own.
4) Jameson's no fear and attack style is high risk and reward which leads to critics saying he is overrated but I find it just plain exciting to watch. Anyone remember another 4Xer that the critics thought was overrated and would get thumped in College.........Lang, and he is doing just fine at NW
higher level, putting on a show is one thing. slapping your opponents in the ass after a win is another. That might get you shot in my state. Let's see how many times he slaps Mario Mason's ass.
JAMESON WAS STUCK!!!!!! HE ALSO CRIED(TAPPED TO GET OFF HIS BACK!!!)REFS IN OHIO SUCK!!!!!!!!!THEY OBVIOUSLY DID NOT CALL THE PIN BECAUSE HE IS GOING FOR
HIS THIRD STATE TITLE. HEY "A REF" JUST BECAUSE AN OFFICIAL HAS THE RIGHT VIEW DOESN'T MEAN HE DOES THE RIGHT THING,I.E. MAKES THE RIGHT CALL, REFS ARE HUMAN TOO! AND THESE HUMANS SUCK!!! YOUR OPINION THAT NO ONE BUT THE REF 12INCHES AWAY CAN DISCERN WHAT IS TAKING PLACE MAKES YOU IRRATIONAL, HOW MANY TIMES DOES AN NFL OFFICIAL GET OVER RULED EVEN THOUGH HE IS THE CLOSEST TO THE ACTION? ANSWER; EVERY SINGLE FOOTBALL GAME IT HAPPENS. GROW A PAIR AND ADMIT THAT ONE OF YOUR BUDDIES SCREWED UP!!!
He may have been pinned but why don't you like Jameson? He tries this crazy exciting stuff for you, the fans. He risks his fourth state title just to put on a show for the fans. He never stops scoring because he doesn't want to be boring. Why do so few people respect him for that?
He was STUCK. What is with the ass slap? The ref would've been doing this kid a favor by making the call, he's going to be in for a rude awakening next year.
Get a clue, how can you think you hve a better view than the ref down on the mat. All you experts should try putting on a striped shirt and see what kind of job you can do. Until you do, you have no room to talk. Anyone can call a match from the stands, try doing it in font of on the mat in front of a lg crowd...
yeah he definitely looks pinned in that head and arm but you never get a clear view of both shoulders..ur crazy if you think you can make a decision from this video
Smack His Butt Jameson February 29, 2008 at 10:10pm
I was wrestling durring this match on mat one and i heard the crowd just booing and yelling...dont worry, if jameson steps on the top of the podium, in the back of his mind he knows he doesnt deserve it...actually he is a punk so he might not realize it
I watched the video, and if the people who said the the ref should have called the pin from your angle yuo are in the wrong business. not taking anything away from rudy, a valiant effort
I am as big a fan of Jameson as anyone, but he sure looked pinned on the headlock. I mean how often does a guy as strong as his opponent looked lock up a headlock like that and not get the fall?
I'm not affiliated with Ohio but saw this video. As a referee for many years, I've learned one thing; I've never made a bad call from the stands. I'll attempt to be rational for the irrational but how can someone in the stands or even at the table see what a guy six inches to 12 inches away see? Judging from these responses and the ones on jjhuddle it sounds like 80% of Ohio was mat-side. The official has a great view and is in great position to look for the fall. He didn't call it because it was most likely not there. Most fans of high school wrestling don't know what constitutes a fall. It takes either shoulders or scapulas held to the mat for two seconds. He may be stuck but can he stick him for two seconds?
I worked a state qualifying tournament last weekend and had a coach go nuts on me because I did not call a fall. He was convinced that I was screwed up and I suppose from his angle it looked like a fall. From my position I saw a shoulder and scapula off the mat. When both shoulders touched, I could not get a two second count even though the top wrestler was trying his best. Two seconds can be a long time.
Rudy is the best he works hard and wrestles with heart I think that the ref's were blind and did not call the pin.He is a good kid and he was robbed of a well deserved victory!!!!!!!
I like watching Jameson , but he was pinned . After watching 3 times, it's pretty obvious he was pinned with the headlock.
You have to remember Hendon worked hard to get there, and wrestled the match of his life. His coaches showed a lot of self control, the headlock was right in front of them.
you people from ohio never stop talking about how ohio is one of the best states for wrestling. and a 3x state champ gets put on his back 3 times LMFAOLOLOLOLOLROFLLOLOLOLOWTFHAHAHAHAHAHAHLOLOLOLOLOLOLROFLLMFAOHAHAHAHAHA
Class Act? Don't think. I've seen him and his old man start fights with people in the stands during matches. I saw him challenge a highschool kid to a fight in the parking lot after a match.
OSHAA Ref's Are A Farce February 29, 2008 at 2:33pm
If you were there you know Rudy pinned him. Those Ref's should be fired and never be able to ref another match. The OSHAA should get involved. Rudy was scammed.
Hendon needed to get in better position a few times he had Jameson on his back, but regardless, the third time he put Jameson on his back, he looked flat.
is this jameson kid actually supposed to be any good? if he does crap like this all the time i don't understand how he can be a top ranked national wrestler. seems like you could pick him apart...
i understand rooting for the underdog, but there was never a pin there. The kid fought hard, and came about as close to pinning him as possible without actually doing it. but, im sorry, the way i see it anyone who calls that a pin is obviously rooting against tony because they dont wanna see it, or from bowling green.
First of all, stfu, im not from austin town fitch, second of all, you can't even tell if he is flat on his back back the ref is in the way you idiot. It still looks to me, but it does look like his body is twisted away, and time ran out anyway.
there was a kid from kentucky this year that was undefeated throughout high school with three state titles and this year in the state finals he lost his first match. it is kentucky wrestling though. anybody can beat anybody it just depends on who has the better head and arm.
I can't figure out why Jameson continued to go up top with this kid after he'd been put on his back twice. Rudy looked very strong. That would have made history . . . first three time state champ to not win his senior year, but he pulled it out.
Not sure if he was pinned--definitely looked like it on the headlock, but we couldn't quite see the far blade from that angle. Either way, Tony Jameson is my new favorite high school wrestler to watch. Who wrestles like that when they've already been caught a few times in the match, at the state tournament no less? Stupid, maybe. Entertaining, definitely. Even the roll through cradle at the end took some guts--why not wait for OT and hit your trip single again? I also like how the kid seems like a class act, despite his "showboating" style. True even when he loses (check the Breckensville match on ohiowrestling.net-multimedia).
Awesome match: although a shame if Hendon did in fact get robbed.
Watch the videos from the 2008 Ohio State Wrestling Championships (OHSAA) from the campus of Ohio State University in Columbus, OH here on Flowrestling.
but the refs. this year
I heard had a meeting about not calling as many pins

but it would be hard to call the fall
1) the reff didnt slap the mat
and...
2)...i know that reff personally...and he would be the one to call the pin just to say...''ya i reffed the match that jameson got pinned in
heters get off it
everyone just needs to get over it:]
hes a great wrestler and ppl just need to get over that fact that he cant be stoped
