Ya'll are such haters. first of all how many of you are 8x national champs. Everyone seems to hate someone who wins alot. This kid he wrestled had no pressure on him. He wasn't expected to win. also, i saw someone write that he kicked greys ass? How is tied with 1:09 to go and then getting a takedown with 13 secs to go...from an almost stalemate position getting his ass kicked. Kraisser looked good. So did grey. That first take down by grey was text book. I give them both props. Y'all should step back because you know you will be hearing about mark greay for many years to come. His brother says Mark is better than he was and his brother is ranked 2nd in nation div I as a college freshman. We should be proud to have these guys wrestling for us. I hope they go to olympics someday and kick ass.

Back in 1978, when I wrestled Tulsa (made to the second round, bad-ass me), many wresters entered in two weight classes (eg., 78 and 81) in case they couldn't make the lighter weight. They cut back then and they take way more seriously now.

Lawley   February 14, 2008 at 2:26pm
he might have cut all the weight but he 2 days to recover. they weigh in on thursday but wrestle on friday and saturday. other than that roller shouldnt have stopped all the matches. but the way i look at it, that loss will make grey that much more tougher. tulsa nationals is a big youth tournament but you dont get recruited for winning it, it all starts in high school.

Omaha,
That was the stupid, Roller was giving credit to grey. Everything Roller does is for the kids Grey was expected to win. The problem is that grey cut to much weight and was gassed. Rumor was that he cut 20 llbs. And thats why everyone cheered when he lost. It would mean alot more had he wrestled his own weight class.

Not All Kids Cut Weight   January 24, 2008 at 9:42am
This is to the people that have said "most kids cut for this tournament" or "who in the sport of wrestling doesn't cut weight?" This is not directed at Mark or Nathan.

Well, not all of the kids cut weight, so don't imply that they do. I can't believe the amount of weight some kids do cut, and Roller just encourages it by having weigh-ins Thursday afternoon for a Friday and Saturday tournament. These kids should have to weigh-in for both days of wrestling. Kids cutting 10% or more of their weight at this age is ridiculous, but that is just my opinion. Now if kids want to cut weight, that is their choice, but make them make weight for both days of wrestling. Not all of the kids cut weight, so don't imply that they all do. There are some that don't cut any weight at all and they still do pretty well.

hard fought match i don't know about the call mark is one of the best wrestlers to come out of pascack hills wrestling program. I am sick of all the bs about mark cutting weight , How do you know are you at practice with the kid when he is training 7 days a week. people are always so quick to bash the greys. This had happened to mike also and where is he now? Ranked third in the country as a freshman. Rich Santoli runs a great program, the best in the nation every year. So why don't you fat ass father's get off the computer and go to work?-paco

I have no dog in this fight, but what impresses me most is how both of these kids position themselves like college kids. I haven't watched age group competition at this age in years, but these kids really got after one another and it looked like an actual wrestling match. Not what I would have expected from kids.

Roller had nothing to do with that match. The announcers wanted to do it that way. Jack told them they had to make sure it was ok with both parents. They said great. Grey has been in the spotlight like that efore. Last year they did almost the same thing and Shane Roller met him off the mat shook his hand and got a picture with him. This has nothing todo with Roller, Shane or anything else. They both wrestled a great match with Nathan on top. Mark should have stayed at 95. They wanted an edge so they cut him down. Always in the end it bites you in the arse. Cream floats to the top

Grey's Coaches & parents should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this fine young man to cut so much weight. I don't care if his mother is pediatrician of the year, it just plain wrong for kids this young to be cutting weingt. If Grey is THAT good, then let him wrestle at the weight he feels the strongest, everything will work out just fine in the end. But having the Grey cut weight, his coaches & parents are basically saying that they know he isn't as good as everyone else thinks he is. I feel bad for Grey, he had no endurance to last the 3rd period when Kraisser poured it on. Grey is good, but on that day, Kraisser was better. Maybe his coaches & parents will learn a valuable lesson from this- somehow, I doubt it.

grey looked like he was gassing and kraisser took advantage of it and pushed him the whole match and never seemed like he was tired. i think his conditioning won this match as grey seemed to be gassed and kraisser kept pushing the action the whole match. it still was a great match to watch and both kids looked very tough.
