Bland is a 2-star recruit in football according to scout.com

but a 5-star recruit in wrestling.
Darn shame he's going waste his talent in wrestling for football.

no bland's fantastic nuetral won the match don't forget that welch went up 2 weight classes and beat bland so weight is not the issue. skill is the issue bland had greater skill as a wrestler. that is why he won the match

Collins was way smaller. He wrestled 171 at State and at Senior Nationals. He prolly cuts from 185 down to 171. Hes a 171 pounder when he cuts. Bland prolly cuts from 200 to 189. He easily had 15 pounds on Collins. Thats what decided the match.

i just checked and apparently bland is pretty damn good at football but hes only a 2 star recruit on scout.com whereas hes probably a 5 star on intermat. although those dont really matter because a lot of studs come out of nowhere in college in both sports

jkslf you dumb@!# bland is 2x state champ a runner-up plus what ever he does this year this kid is ready for college plus we need more wrestlers from california to attend college it shows how tough or state is

jkslf is just wrong. Wrestling will lose a great competitor when Bland goes to college. My guess jkslf never wrestled in college - those of us who did would love to see Bland as a competitor in the NCAA.

Bako. It is a fact that they recruit. Were you there when I heard it? I don't think so. Anything to try and get the upper hand on other teams. Typical Central.

Central Catholic does have a good youth program, Two of their kids just won Tulsa Nationals.

Bull crap about Central not recruiting. I saw a coach try to get a kid to wrestle for them in the middle of a tournament. That's pretty bad. The kid was wrestling for another school already.

Bland might wrestle in college. I think he is one of Californias best wrestlers and should be nominated for such at the end of the year. Him, Welch and Im sure theres more but both men being 3 time finalist so far is amazing. I hope Bland wrestles in college...Maybe Varner and him can go at it exciting

I can't imagine how good Bland is at football if he really is significantly better at it than at wrestling. It's too bad we won't get to see him on the mat in college, but I hope he tears it up in football.

When you have a good program public or private you don't need to recruit. People will find away to get there kids in a good program, take a look at all the top schools.
