Cisneros already pinned Devos this pass April in Vega. Ok, you are going to say it was freestyle. While Cisneros had not wrestled freestyle in 4 years and still did that to Devos and he was only weighing 109 lbs.

This kid isn't even close to being the next Cael Sanderson. He looked for a double underhook the entire match.

I'm from maine and we have 4x time state champs that don't make the usa wrestling all-class rankings and this kid is in the 8th grade and ranked 12th thats insane. I'm in 8th and won states, pinning everyone in the 1st period all the way to states. I hope I'll be ranked by the time I'm a junior. Way to go Devos

I saw devos wrestle at the christmas tournament teching a highly ranked opponent in the first period. Hes a very technical wrestler. Thats why it might look so boering to some of you people but really is not its the smart way to wrestle by carefully setting up a great combo that hes confident he can finish... And guess what its worked 3 years in a row!!!!!!!

8th grader and what is your point? Edwin was a young Freshman.

Someone said something about Edwin Dodging Devos that's BS. I've watched both of these wresters many times and I see more improvement from Edwin than I do Devos. I'd like to see Edwin on "creatine".

Do you all realize that Devos has not had a single offensive point scored on him this year??!! I believe he is the only Minnesota wrestler who can say that this year. He is absolutely one of the best wrestlers Minnesota will ever see--just watch. I read in one of his profiles that his goal is to be an Olympic gold medalist and I would not be suprised to see him there!! Also, I have heard from so many people that he is just such a nice and humble kid--give him some credit people.

Mn Gold   February 12, 2008 at 11:15pm
Actually, he was born on July 27, 1993. Therefore, he is not suppose to be a 9th grader. My son was born two weeks after that and he is also an 8th grader. Some people are so jealous on these sites it is pathetic. If you are so envious of how ripped he is then get off your ass and work for it!!! Maybe Devos could give you a motivational speech or something. You all sound so pathetic ripping on a 14 year-old who has devoted himself to a sport he loves!
reply

Yup   February 12, 2008 at 10:39pm
It's some creatine that's for sure and he's supposed to be a 9th grader.

Oh, and HASTINGS, you're just jealous. It is not called creatine--it is called hard work. Something maybe you could benefit from.

Non-biased   February 12, 2008 at 4:02pm
These are some really ignorant comments, when you consider this match was an eight-grader wrestling against a 12th grader. Devos is ranked nationally--that says everything! He is a very good, smart kid who deserves all that he has accomplished. And by the way, he was born in Fairmont, MN, so that is where he is originally from. He has most definitely run from any competition--if anything they have run from him cuz they are scared of getting beat by an 8th grader.

Very poor at the end with the number one thing when you wrestled like crap.
