Grey was not a true freshman. He would have been, at Lehigh, but he reneged and sat out for a year attending an upstate community college before going to Cornell.

Grey was an NCAA All-American as a true freshman, that's still pretty good.

Grey wrestled little children all 4 years of high school, freshman most every year every match.

Now he is wrestling opponents, his age and development and greater, that is the reason he does not succeed or dominate as he used to.

Scott sent that Grey kid to school.
I had no idea Grey was such a dorky kinda, nerdy, akward-ee type of wrestler, definitely NOT an athlete. Definitely overrated.

He's probably got the best collegiate wrestling build ever. There are only a few guys in the whole world that have it all like that. Real long arms, big shoulders, giant core, and skinny legs. What a nightmare opponent, and that's before the size difference comes into play.

He probably feels like superman when you hand fight with him, not to mention when he shoots his long double (you know, the kind of shot where a normal guy would get squished like a cockroach) That giant core is mostly genetic, but he has obviously worked on it with I'm guessing swimming based on those shoulders.

but it also gives him a lot of stability in his stance and when he is extended in his shot. If you ever wrestle a guy like this, you'll notice that they feel freakishly strong when you beat on them. It turns out that all the stabilizer muscles that allow you walk and move around are mostly in your upper abdomen. =]

The bird chest thing is actually his core/abdomen muscles. His giant core muscles will naturally make his lower back weaker, so he probably can't lift people as well (opposing muscle groups)

grey's lack of experience on the college level showed in this match but he did finish 3rd in the tourney while going 5-1. He will develop into a great wrestler at this level.
