scotty was so out of shape for 32s it shows in the video thats not even half of what hes capable. he showed that at seniors cubberly (who is freakin awesome by the way) lost to bosak in the semis and came back for 3rd. i think he shouldve beat bosak.. but anways bosak made it to finals and got spanked on by winston

as for this freestyle dual b.s. winston doesnt even wrestle freestyle he went out to fargo and just shot straight singles and front headlocks and still won Junior Freestyle.

Dear people who are obsessed with Welch,

As I type, Logan Stieber is dropping college wrestlers like flies in Vegas. He just beat the #17 ranked college 125, and already beat Iowa State's starter. Both of these guys defeated Ohio State's Nikko Triggas. Logan is still in high school. Unlike Welch, he is not a senior. He is not a junior. He is a sophomore in high school defeating college wrestlers who have wrestled the 125 lb NCAA champ to 1 point.

Thank you for your time.

Hey, You're ruining this entire forum with your stupid, vulgar comments. Please do us a favor and shut up. Leave room for the people with actual opinions about the match. I would advice rethinking how you spend your time, because I bet if you spent half the time you spent trash talking about your state/wrestling idol, you would probably be twice as good as you are now. Do you think that Winston or Welch spend any time trash talking on forums? I know for a fact that last year Welch went to camps all over the country last summer and he spent 2 additional hours after practice just drilling hard. Get a life kids and stop embarrassing yourselves on here.

I think Yohn did a great job on riding Jason for most of the second period and having the only takedown through the first period and placing Jason on his back ref was a bit quick to call it a potentially dangers. Most of the second period, Jason was having a very hard time holding Yohn down. Jason did take Yohn down a couple of times and Yohn did escape. It was a very close match. Hats off to both great wrestler. We are not done hearing about them. They both have a great career ahead of them. Yohn lost weight and went down to 160 so he could wrestle Jason. That shows the type of charater Yohn has, wanting to wrestle the best. Both wrestled very hard to the end

these kids pushed the entire match. i am unbiased between welch and yohn but, to say welch was just headbanging???? he was taking a shot every 15 seconds. it was very early in the season and i am surprised either of them were able to go so hard for so long.

Jason Welch played Football and Las Lomas just Finished a 13 Game season after
making the playoffs. He's about three weeks into his wrestling season. Please
Pay Attention,Yohn or no one else close too the 160lb.class belongs on the same mat with Jason Welch in two months when he's rounding into top form.Nothing against the two young men that you mentioned they are nice kids,
however we're talking about the best High School Wrestler in The Country when we're talking About Jason Welch that is in Top Wrestling Form.He beats anybody in High School Wrestling Come February,March by Pin or DQ & THEY CAN WALK OFF THE MAT WITH THEIR HEADS UP.We're talking about a Young man Jason Welch That is the Best High School Wrestler in The Country and who has a great chance if he stays healthy at winning an Olympic Medal in 2012.Don't mean to offend anyone its just the truth.Check back at the end of the season,he'll certainly Dominate State & any other High School Wrestling Venue that he participates in.He's An
Animal.
Best Regards,
Anthony Flores

I laugh at your "stalling" comment. Maybe you have thirty years of experience, but it's possible to be a rookie 30 times in a row. I've been driving now for 20 years and you don't see me racing Nascar.

watching this match, as a 30 year wrestling ref, (both high school and college level, 20 state championships in high school, 10 college nationals) both wrestlers were struggling. i would have hit both wrestlers with stalling. welch is a head banger! it was obvious that he was just bull rushing yohn. yohn look out of shape, and miss getting some critical back points early on in the match when the ref called them out of bounds. this hurt yohn, the outcome may have been very different if yohn had received his back points had the ref on miss his call.

Yohn is tough, to be sure, but, Welch is a polished wrestler: he uses set ups from both sides rather easily and is never rattled. I need to see him back east for some match-ups with some of those guys. He is very impressive.

i thought it was a great match by Welch, Yohn realy got the one takedown to start the match. When playing the takedown game it hurts to give up the early takedown. Although after that Jason did a great job of pushing the action like always.

I've heard it talked about before that Welch isn't in top form yet. While I agree with that(he's only been wrestling for a week or two), I think Cody Yohn has really closed the gap. I don't know how different this matcc would have looked if Welch was in "wrestling shape". Yohn has been very good the last few years and I think this year he has really come into his own and is truly this talented. It says a lot about Welch that he could beat Yohn on only a few weeks worth of practice. Two tough competitors.
