This weight had three tiers of wrestlers that were difficult for me to rank. The first being 1-3. I was able to justify ranking all three of these wrestlers number 1. Mitchell has a win over Gentry, Gentry has a win over Mitchell, and Billy took 6th at NHSCA Juniors (not to mention the only multiple time state champ in the group). As tough as these three guys are, Gentry's resume from this year is just too much for me to overlook. He took 2nd at the Beast and 4th at the super tough Ironman. I believe that's more than enough justification for the #1 spot. So now that number 1 was out of the way, how did I decide on #2? Well to be perfectly honest, I flipped a coin. Mitchell won the flip this week.
The next group that gave me problems was 4-8. Again I think you could shuffle this group around any way you like and come out with a legit result. Bruno is a phenom and wins just about every tournament he enters. Whitt is also a bonofided stud that is succeeding even though he's really a 112 lber. Bauer is taking on all comers in WV which is justification in itself, and Bond has been on a tear this year with only a loss to Dyer blemishing his record. But to keep it sort Bruno gets 4th for his performance at the Cheesehead. Whitt gets 5th for the tough match he gave Carter (8-6). Bauer gets 6th for being the OVAC Tournament OW. Bond gets 7th for beating St. Antony's (NY) Grant Greene.
8-On the Bubble was just as tough as 1-7. Hurley's performance at TOC warrants a ranking and look for him to slide up a few spots in the weeks to come. To put it simply when you've got a wrestler as good as Logan Biddy not in the Top 10 it makes things very tough to decide upon.
