John Smith Reacts to 2020 Olympic Wrestling Decision

Oklahoma State head wrestling coach John Smith comments on the International Olympic Committee's recommendation to drop wrestling from competition at the 2020 Games. Coach Smith also comments on what can be done by fans, coaches and athletes worldwide to help reverse this decision and ensure that one of the world's oldest and most diverse and competitive sports remains represented on the world stage. John Smith has been the head wrestling coach at Oklahoma State University since 1992, and has coached the Cowboy Wrestling program to five NCAA team national championships. He is the all-time winningest coach at a program that has produced 34 team national championships, the most of any school in any sport in the United States, and has coached 24 NCAA Individual national champions. Smith is also a six-time World Champion wrestler, a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist (1988 and 1992), a two-time Pan American Games Gold Medalist, a two-time Goodwill Games Gold Medalist and a two-time NCAA wrestling champion.
