echodog on the previous page pointed out what i've always found most impressive about Pico: heavy, heavy hands, and devastating snaps. you rarely see that at the HS level. about the only other HS kid that also has/does it is Marsteller. Gulibon was the best wrestling that style last year.Other than those three, i can't think of anyone in recent memory that wrestled that way. Zane Richards, maybe. Ramos' game revolves around it now. but it didn't in HS.the altons were good in that respect too. but ive never seen a HS'ers game so dominant like the 3 i mentioned above, on such a consistent basis. remarkable, really.

Fargo Champ, Pico (St. Don Bosco) and FloNats Runner-Up, Gasca (Kingsway) brawl at the Super32 Trials in Cali.
there are always gonna be people that discredit a great athlete! picos a beast and he beat another beast. who care what his age is. even tho he is only 15. the kid has a work ethic that is unreal that's what makes him great not the one extra year. to all the haters I say make the weight and see how u do or parent put ur great wrestler up and see how that works out! I look forward to the carnage at iron man where I hope he silences all, but like the Valencia's it prob won't quit till he takes state .

Great match. Pico looked a weight class bigger and stronger . Gasca needs a little more cardio. This will be a fun match up to watch for a while. Both kids have bright futures if they continue to work hard.
Aaron is a great kid. While he is relentless on the mat he is very humble and approachable off the mat He has a great family, lifelong training partners, loyal teammates and great coaches. Javier is the same type of kid -- they both represent our state with class. Aaron and the Valencia's have a chance to do what only one wrestler in our state has ever done. We have had many greats -- Olympic Gold Medalists etc that have not been even close to winning 4 titles. It will be an exciting road -- we all know I am a huge supporter of the Bosco boys but I also know that there is alot that can happen between now and than. All three have earned the #1 state ranking and there national rankings -- I know Ruben and Anthony read these forums and my stance has always been the same -- find time to enjoy all of this because it is gone in the blink of an eye and everyone on this forum will be talking about the next phenoms.
Anthony is Aaron's dad. You guys keep assuming that he was held back twice. Maybe he has a fall/winter (Sept - Dec) bday and had to wait a year to start school. Under that senerio, he would've only been held back once. I don't have a clue why Aaron repeated a grade and i'm sure if I asked Anthony he probably would've told me. Truth be told, I could care less and that type of decision is a family matter.
Age is not the concern or his wrestling ability. I believe the issue is why was he held back for two years? Did he not make grades? Did the parents force him to repeat the same grade twice? It sounds like some form of child abuse. If I had any kids I wouldn't subject my son or daughter to be held back only to excel in wrestling. Either way, it looks like Bosco will have a few state champions this year. Toughest guy on the team, Zahid true sopre.
Who cares what grade or how old he is, i don't. I've know Aaron since he was about 6 years old and he's always been an awesome kid and wrestler. Bottom line is this, they both toed the line and Aaron won the match. His current age or grade has no impact on this match or his fargo results.
Great show. Two studs putting it on the line early. All us fans are in for a great treat if this is a preview of what is yet to come from across the Flonation. Pico has some punishing hands.
Good job Pico and congrats Anthony for raising such a fine young man and a hell of a wrestler.
