Martin: I wasn't aware of that, as I thought he mostly began with the NCWA...but at any rate, whoever got women's wrestling to be so strong here in Texas may very well have saved men's wrestling in the process (from a legal standpoint), although we'd do well to get the NCAA to finally recognize women's wrestling:http://www.insidetexaswrestling.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=5965On a different front, if only an NCWA team existed here in Houston... The Big 12 may drop our sport if Oklahoma bolts for the S.E.C. But U. H. may join the Big 12 soon:http://www.insidetexaswrestling.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=58&t=6153Food for thought :-)

Jim Giunta is probably the wrestling man of the year/decade with his creation of the NCWA.
The thing about Jim most people dont know is that he started wrestling in Texas from the dust of the earth. He built up the scholastic high school soo big that the governing body couldnt ignore it anymore. Then he built up this college program system that is getting so big that it is creating different divisions and what not....again from the dust of the earth. Not many people can do that.
Martin:You rank right up there with Jim. Thanks for all that you do for our endangered sport.
Hey! I'm new to the wrestling scene and never got around to it in highschool, so this is great for me to get matches and experience against some game competition. Just a little worried about getting my knee re-injured.
Texan, can you imagine if we had 10 more Jim Guinta s in wrestling. We would be rocking and rolling!
See how much power an individual can have to make a positive difference if that person innovates, hustles and coordinates like Jim has done? For more on his fine work:http;//www.ncwa.net & http://www.ncwwa.net
