After all, the catholic church gave us the dark ages just so they could maintain power and control over the population.I come to Flowrestling to watch and read about wrestling and not for serious historical thinking. Still, it's hard not to respond to this sort of ignorance. To say that the Roman Catholic church was responsible for the harsh period of the early Middle Ages following the collapse of the Western Roman world is an absurd fantasy. The Roman Empire collapsed as a result of demographic, cultural and military decline and the numerous waves of immigration and invasions of "barbarians" (who were Pagan and not Christian as any high school student of history should know). In fact, it was the Catholic monasteries that became the sole repositories of the achievements of classical antiquity during "the Dark Ages" (which by the way is a term that even an amateur historian would avoid). I don't think Flowrestling should allow posts that denigrate the religious beliefs of wrestling fans, no matter how breathtakingly ignorant those posts may be. |

Some people want to turn FLO into another propaganda machine for religion. Hey maybe if preists stop molesting little kids people would have a better opinion about church and religion. |
