i've watched most of iowa's meets this year and the progression even from the OK State tie has been amazing. with the addition of Montell M. they are really coming on.. the Brands will have these young guys ready and wrestling like they have something to prove. they will be a tough team to beat unless other teams are working as hard as they are right now to improve... and nobody works harder than this program.. nobody
Listen Martin, Joe, or whichever knuckle-dragger wrote this. Don't worry about IOWA. Brands & Co have everything under control and I will personally enjoy this years NCAA Team Championship more than any other.
they will need montell if they want to contend for a title. I hate to say this cause i bleed black and gold but they are just too young and inexperienced to win a championship this year. I hope i am wrong but the midlands didnt go to well for iowa, but they will build off that experience and get better.
They can take theirs and beat yours or they could take yours and beat theirs. You had better get your licks in when they are all very young because they are going to be burning your house down again soon, very soon.
no one gets stuff done in March like Iowa. Those dudes are always in the finals with multiple losses etc.
I wouldnt be surprised at all if Iowa ends up winning another National Title. Brands knows how to break in wrestlers
Iowa is in a similar situation to Ohio State as it relates to scholarships. Tom Brands came to Iowa three years ago from Va Tech, just as Tom Ryan came to Ohio State about 4 years ago from Hofstra. With all of their transfer wrestlers (Metcalf & Pucillo) now gone, they are in "down" years, but neither will stay down for long!
Im not a "NOBODY CAN COMPETE WITH IOWA!!" fag but how can you say you hate iowa? there one of the if not the hardest working team in america, plus the coaching staff is loaded with NCAA champs and guys who compete internationally. plus iowa created whats known as "american style" wrestling. there mentality it 2 work hard never give up and never ever stop, how can you hate on them for that?
I hate iowa but you have to know that the Brands bros. will have this team ready to go in march. The one thing iowa has always done, what championship teams always do, is equal or better their seeds at the ncaas. I hope they lose but you never know...that's what makes it all so great.

They blanked the first 4 teams they wrestled this year and have 5 overall shutouts so far, two of them being division 1 teams.Next week they will wrestle at the Midlands and we will find out where they are against some of the best competition in the country and we want to know what you think. Will Iowa be a force here and contend for a team title and will they have a shot in March?

Iowa is a team that a lot of people are wondering about, after winning three NCAA titles in a row they lost 9 starters from last year's line-up (8 if Montell Marion comes back). They are unproven against a top level team this year but have been impressive nonetheless. They blanked the first 4 teams they wrestled this year and have 5 overall shutouts so far, two of them being division 1 teams.
Next week they will wrestle at the Midlands and we will find out where they are against some of the best competition in the country and we want to know what you think. Will Iowa be a force here and contend for a team title and will they have a shot in March?
