I don't care what anyone says this is an example of Terry Brands paving the way for good thing that followed his tenure.

If Chattanooga does host this tournament it will be done FIRST CLASS. UTC and the Chattanooga community will do a great job. Greensboro loss is Chattanooga's gain. GO MOCS!

I think you'll be surprised who all is coming back Josh.Coward as for GA not having a rich wrestling culture your quite wrong. We have ridiculous numbers as far as wrestling is concerned the issue is national and regional results and college wrestlers producing. Its getting better I think we had more D1 national qualifiers this year than we've ever had form GA. I think something like the NCAA's would be great for ATL but Scuffle needs to be in a college town with a wrestling team. It makes sense. That said don't think the GA folks won't be there supporting and volunteering at this event.

Good luck with that soon-to-be-x. It wouldn't matter if they had commitments to fund the UNCG program for the next twenty years... they won't bring it back b/c not about money.

Being pretty close to the situation I can assure you every effort will be made to sustain and surpass the level of prestige and depth that has made the scuffle THE best regular season D1 tournament in the country. Details will be getting out as things develope. UTC will be a phenomenal venue and coach Eslinger and staff are an eager bunch to knock this out of the park.

Is there a division one school in Atlanta with a wrestling program? its headed to UTC because they have one.

With the recent dropping of UNCG wrestling the Southern Scuffle needs a new home for the, now prestigious, holiday college wrestling tournament. It appears that the University of Tennessee Chattanooga will now play host to the tournament on January 1 & 2, 2012 for a great way to ring in the new year.
