2009 Banquet and Awards
The banquet went well last night. We celebrated a great season and laid out a direction for success for the following years. We will miss our senior wrestler and managers greatly.
Awards:
Rookie of the Year: MS-Cameron Bryant, HS-Levi Schafer
Most Improved: MS-Shaun Whittinghill, HS-Phillip Dlamini
Mustang Award (110%): MS-Michael Kollar, HS-Nick Vincent
Most Outstanding Wrestler: MS-Jason Hall, HS-Zack Michael

Michael and Willbanks both place in State!!
Zack Michael(135) and Steven Willbanks(145) became the first two multiple placers since Eric Walker(171) and James Smith(189) in 1991!
Both wrestlers wrestled well at this past weekends KHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Zack took 6th place at 135 and Steven took 7th at 145. Both will return next year as seniors and have a new goal, become state champion!! Congrats guys. Now the pressure is on.
Freshmen Levi Schafer(125) also competed and wrestled well winning his consolation match. Great job to all the wrestlers who finished the season!
