Parkside Ranked #15 The UW-Parkside wrestling team moved up four spots to No. 15 in the country in NCAA Division II. The poll, provided by the NCAA Division II Wrestling Coaches Association, came out on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
Nebraska-Kearney remains ranked No. 1 in the nation. Nebraska-Omaha is No. 2 and defending national champion Central Oklahoma is No. 3. The remainder of the top 20 are as follows:

Becker wins title at Indianapolis Kyle Becker emerged as an individual champion and the UW-Parkside wrestling team finished in sixth place out of 21 teams at the annual Midwest Classic. The event was held on the campus of the University of Indianapolis January 4-5.
Becker topped the 165-pound bracket. The senior defeated JaVonte Ashford of King College with a 10-4 decision in the championship match. He drew a bye in the first round, then won matches by scores of 18-3, 16-0 and 7-2. His record moved to 26-2.
As a team, the Rangers scored 78.5 points, edging out Findlay, which tallied 77.5, for sixth place. Powerhouse Adams State was crowned the team champion, scoring 142 points, well ahead of second place Newberry, 107.5. Ashland was third with 103.5 points and host Indianapolis was fourth, 103.5.
UW-Parkside had a second, fourth and fifth place finisher in addition to Becker.
Craig DeGreef finished in second place in the 133-pound grouping. He lost to Shane Perkey of host Indianapolis by a 17-6 count. DeGreef won his three previous matches to get to the title tilt, by scores of 5-2, 5-0 and 8-0. DeGreef upped his personal record to 10-4 after the trip to Indy. He came in ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II.
Fourth place went to Luke Haag in the 184-pound weight class. He fell to Brad Padgett of St. Cloud State in the third place match by a 10-7 score. Haag won his first match by a narrow 11-10 margin, then was pinned in 2:26, sending him to the lower bracket. He came back to win by 4-3 and 3-2 scores and then won by pin in 4:48, setting up the third place match.
The Rangers' fifth place finisher was Corey VanGroll, who won the fifth place match by forfeit. He drew a bye in the first round and scored wins of 12-2 and 6-4 before losing, 3-2.
The next action for UW-Parkside will be at the NWCA National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa, Saturday-Sunday, Jan. 12-13.
