Damion Hahn had a goal of being the first 4x New Jersey State Champion. His freshman year he had the opportunity when he went to the state finals. He lost 2-1 to Shawn Scannell (Absegami '96) but then went on to win it his next three years. He wrestled at the University of Minnesota in college and helped take the team to its first team title in 2001 when he and every one of his teammates became an All American. He then went on to win his first NCAA Individual Title in 2003 in dramatic fashion when he defeated Jon Trenge by getting the winning takedown w/:03 seconds left. He defended his title in 2004 by defeating rival Ryan Fulsaas of Iowa.
