Such a horrible ending to an excellent match.Funny how they say freestyle rules "push action and excitement"Guess so?overtime rules need shuffling thats for sure.

u could see Frayer touched thats considered lockin in freestyle. Good match by both guys though
I don't know who thinks up these overtime rule changes but they are clueless. A ball grab?? ridiculous!! And the starting position for ball grab is too hard to officiate. A guy jumps the gun and ref misses it and match over. I say if it is 3rd period and decidig the match then make them wrestle on their feet until someone scores!! With the push out rule it will happend sooner or later. And at least then you feel like someone won and someone lost. The way this match ended after 3 matches is pitiful!! One guy goes to worlds and one guy stays home. And partly because of a ref.
Oh man. That was a terrible call. I understand that you need to have your head to the outside but that was a good start in the first try.And that definitely was a huge false start in the third attempt. It really makes me think the fix was in. Frayer paid his dues and got the USA jam job.
play/pause at 10:51. It looks like you can see Frayer's right hand come under the leg and his left hand locking on the wrist...either way, what a silly way to decide who is better this day. Let them wrestle sudden victory in the 3rd period
matches of this importance shouldn't be decided by sum guy grabbin balls! these guys r both warriors and the victory needs to be earned, not decided by chance, ball grab sux!
"They gave it to Metcalf" is right. If you watch, the ref should never have stopped the action the first time they tried the clinch. Frayer got the leg cleanly, and Metcalf was in position to battle. Should have let them wrestle it out right there. As it played out, that last call against Frayer was a joke. Anyone who has watched Metcalf on ball grabs knows his philosophy--better to be cautioned out than run out with a leg. He almost never lets the other guy get his leg cleanly. Worked for him here, and I'm glad he's on the World Team, but there's no question Frayer got screwed.
ok so lets say that the ref messed up and it was a false start on Metcalf, why would Frayer be in such bad position that he had to give up a take down? i mean hes in on a guys leg... how is it NOT his fault that he LOST THE MATCH on a takedown? if it were a false start and the ref missed it then he should have kept wrestling until he heard the whistle at the end of the 30 seconds. If Frayer wasnt complaining and thinking about things out of his control he would be on the world team with a pushout or something... it was the 3rd period of the 3rd match and Metcalf beat him on the mat as well as mentally.
i think frayer flinched and was looking for brent to get the 2nd caution. it looked to me like frayers hands were locked and if they wernt they should have been b/c they were very close together. Now we really have to pull for Metcalf to place in sept.
