Great match to watch in retrospect. We all know how good Leen was and how great Burroughs became, but this made me wonder what if Leen had committed as fully to freestyle as Burroughs has? Ton of talent on the mat in this match.

Jordan Leen of Cornell and Jordan Burroughs of Nebraska met at the Las Vegas Invite finals in 2008 and battled to become champion. Jordan Leen was a defending national champion and Jordan Burroughs actually ended up winning the weight class this year. Jordan Burroughs vs Jordan Leen was an instant classic on Flowrestling.
Great match to watch in retrospect. We all know how good Leen was and how great Burroughs became, but this made me wonder what if Leen had committed as fully to freestyle as Burroughs has? Ton of talent on the mat in this match.Also--MArtin wasn't bad as a commentary guy back in the day. Pretty cool.
A sick back and forth battle between two awesome wrestlers. Burroughs demonstrate excellent counter offense in this match. Leen not only showed why he was an NCAA Champ, but also some mean Irish Jig Skills. The only reason I gave the official a bad rating was the false start by Burroughs that should have been a caution.
I did read the post and nowhere does it say anything even close to what you are now claiming, in terms of a 8-6 or 8-7 win. Perhaps if I were a mind reader I could have better understood your post, which left a lot to be desired. Also: " I don't think burroughs could put on that takedown clinic in one period" But now we are to assume he can get two takedowns and lose 8-6 or 8-7. If he can get two TDs in 1 period, it would be very reasonable to assume he could get that 3rd TD as well.It would seem you are unaware of the "bigred" colored glasses you are viewing this match with. Every hypothetical you claim should have happened seems to fall in favor of Leen. Very legitimate indeed. lol
Burroughs is obviously a top wrestler in this video in 2008 but its amazing how much better he got every year... He developed a lot even from this match and he won the nationals this year... he's one of the few guys in NCAA who legitamately became better and more dominat every single year... very unique guy.
Amazing how you can take a loss by Leen and somehow try and say it should have been a 6-2 win at least.
westle, you are completely wrong on all acounts. whatever you say should be stricken from the site. i wonder how well your tactics work compared to Leens. it seems to me like burroughs had his hands full. For someone to say that someone would win 10 out of 10 times after watching that match must be sta sta sta stupid
Poor job in this match by ref. The false start never called inconsistent line calls. I like Jordan but a better ref in Nat. Finals will be a different match,
Bubba Jenkins from Penn State does a little dance before he shoots in on a take down also, check out (dirty take downs).
