Video compilation of the best from USA wrestling, past and present
Well I wouldn't say they are not as offensive, but the rules have changed pretty drastically. 2 minute periods, score not carrying over, push out, no real penelty for passivity. Not to mention the ball draw and leg clinch. Think about 9 minute matches, putting your opponent on the mat for passivity, wrestling on the edge (the zone) without fear of being pushed out. I could keep going, but the rule changes dictate the strategies. I think Jordan Burroughs has it figured out...

is there a possibility of getting this video, or some like it to promote wrestling at my school? Like most high schools, we have a TV production class that runs a news/announcements program each day. I would love to have a short version of a video like this to promote interest. I would totally give credit to the creators and/or pay for the rights.
Thanks Adam for the kind words. I hope that I can continue to showcase the best of the sport and expose it more to the general public. I recognized your name coincidentally, because I have done work with Reggie Roberts over at Aptos High School. I helped him promote the Cali-Coast Classic, and did his team's highlight this past year. If your team is ever interested in me helping out with videos, or promotions let me know, I would be more than willing to help out any way I can. Check out my site www.riccioproductions.com, or send me an email geoffriccio@comcast.net if you ever want to talk more about it. Again, thanks for the kind words! - Geoff
Geoff, really, really well done. As someone who's made a few videos, though none nearly this well, I can't imagine how much footage you sourced and how many hours it took you to get through it. The detail you put into your timing and transitions is awesome, not to mention the great voiceover! Thanks so much. Wish we had more of these to highlight what an incredible sport wrestling can be.
The footage of Mills is after beating Sergei Beloglazov, the footage I think you are referring to is Bobby Weaver running around the mats when he wins the 1984 Olympics
That's not Gene Mills running around the mat, it's Bobby Weaver after he won gold in 84. Mills beat the Soviet wrestler by referee's decision in the 81 World Cup.

Outside of my family their is nothing I love more than wrestling and videos like this remind my of why.
If anyone wants to check out more of my work, feel free to check out my site: www.riccioproductions.comI am overwhelmed at how many people have enjoyed this, and I hope I can continue to highlight this amazing sport.
I am so thankful to have wrestling in my life! I aspired to be like my heros in this video, Smith, Schultz, Gable, and Saunders. I was never fortunate enough to be as great, or reach the heights they reached. Yet with that being said, I did not leave empty handed. I was fortunate to have learned a strong work ethic, and belief that hard work will never fail you. I learned that great opportunities often disguises themselves as impossible feats. Now I am grown man with the opportunity to help mold and prepare young boys to become men. Coaching wrestling provides me with a purpose that couldn't be replaced. Thanks for video, it is awesome!Adam Jaimez
Thanks for all the positive feedback! I hope to continue marketing the sport that I love so much. With support, I can continue to work to get wrestling the mainstream attention it deserves. Thanks again! And btw, the song is called "Celebrate" by Embrace, and the piano rift is called "Bear" by Carly Commando
That was AWESOME! Riding a stationary bike right now following surgery a few short months ago, worn down after a lifetime of engaging in this sport I love so much....Really needed this fantastic motivational video right now, Thx guys!
