Burroughs started off with a BANG and then started to slow down. Howe pulled within a couple in an action packed match.

I got to meet JB in person at the Midlands. He is one of the nicest and most humble young men that you'll ever meet. He even took time out to share some of his experiences with some HS kids who were fans. Great champion! |

Final score was 10-7, but J.B. was given 1pt. for Howe's 3rd caution. I didn't think that J.B. stalled out the match, but he certainly slowed down. Howe presses constantly but he is much more than just a bruiser. J.B. appears to pick his spots/moments and then explode. Howe is known for staying in excellent position and being a hand-fighting monster who is nearly impossible to score on. After the first blood time, J.B. hit a low single off of the whistle that was so fast it was actually hard to see how he did it! For a 165 lber, I don't think there is another athlete (in any sport) in the country with his speed and explosiveness. |

ALSO, I want to give Burroughs credit for his maturity and wrestling mind, he seemed very respectful and very objective about his match. Credit him for his modesty and intelligence.Exactly, Win or Lose, Jordan has nothing but positive energy that goes beyond saying in the statement he made regarding the match with Howe........EVERY THOUGHT OF YOURS IS A REAL THING---"A FORCE"! KEEP RISING TO THE T.O.P. and never stop giving back baby! |

Clearly Burroughs was on the attack the whole time. How could he get dinged for stalling. Howe just tied up with him and pushed him out off the mat. That is not wrestling or offense. He got a few lucky takedowns on the edge of the mat. Burroughs is just too fast. Howe's style does not match well enough to defeat Burroughs. Howe is bruiser who stays in your face and tries to press the action. Burroughs Is just too fast and technical on his feet. He does not have to tie up to setup his lighting fast takedowns. Once burroughs gets in better shape lookout.I completely agree. Just consider the Metcalf match. Metcalf is a bruiser who pounds opponents into submission and physical intimidation, as well as being technically sound, while Burroughs is a speedy sort of in and out kind of neutral wrestler who won't touch you before a shot if he doesn't have to. Kryptonite for the bruising style. |
