The Flo guys give a nice little recap of the 2012 NCAA finals and get a little sidetracked once or twice along the way.

Blatnick will be in our room tomorrow (monday).... I will have to tell him how badly he was missed. I thought Robles did a good job, however, they need Bader. Nobody has more energy than Mark when it comes to commentating wrestling...Joe is a close second. |

I was OK with Robles and I do love him also. Gibbons was good too. I am so hyped up during the finals, I don't think it would matter to me what they said...It matters to me when I am watching the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and medal rounds because I am looking for insight on wrestlers, their styles, interesting facts about little known or seen wrestlers and their squads. I really listen then, but I blog at the same time, they Seton Hall Pirate and his gang from InterMat seem to be the MOST Knowledgeable!!!!! I enjoy blogging with them as I watch the match...they really Really REALLY know wrestling and I learn. That is difficult to teach me something about wrestling, but I always learn something with them and they make me laugh all the time. |

I think it was a good call, it was basically a stalemate position, neither wrestler was going to advance their postion from where they were. Oliver was low on the ankles and Stieber was tight and high on a bodylock. The referee was presumably waiting for Stieber to hit the roll he hit just before to get Out of bounds. If Oliver would have attempted to improve a little more or pop his head then he would have definately scored, but instead he made it seem like a stalemate position by not even attempting to improve his position more. |

Blatnick has never been my favorite, but at least he knows the sport. My personal favorite is Jim Gibbons. He's the best. He breaks it down and tells people what the wrestler needs to do. He doesn't act like the viewers have never seen a wrestling meet before. I hate it when announcers have to explain what riding time is and how points are scored. Saturday night's broadcast sucked for that reason. |

I'm sick of

The lead announcer on ESPN having no clue. They should let the number 2 guy be the man every year. I love Roble too, but he's not an announcer. The weirdest moment was the on the floor interview with Simaz. The annouincer has to have more to ask than the comment about body types made the day before. I'm pumped that ESPN gives the 3 hour live block, but there is a lot of room for improvemenmt. The guy screaming at the end of the HWT match that it was an upset didn't pay attention to the seeds. It's good, but could be better. |
