@not to be negative, you can stay right outside NYC in a hotel for much cheaper and commute or taxi to msg :D

We live in a world where no publicity is bad publicity. Our sport has scored big with MSG. ESPN MSG and Flo! Maybe this will get the point across about our sport and stop having Dept's destroying our D1 programs!

Remember MSG has a network in which the Knicks and Rangers are on. So Im sure they will be apart of the TV portion. Flo is internet from what I see it works well. I would think ESPN will be on to this soon since they air the NCAA's now. ESPN would want MSG to get the NCAA since its a prime location.

wouldnt it be more beneficial to sell the rights of an event at msg to a television station so they can air to millions of potential viewers.. then to have flo cover it...

Dan I agree the NYAC tourny needs work but I heard Noelle got fired and no longer handling the nyac wrestling which can be a blessing. I think you are giving him to much credit there are other powerful peple who make these events happen he is just a puppet the don king of the sport. now.... ncaa at msg? now that would be ideal.. can't wait to see Cornell claim that title. GO RED!!!

Dan,

I know where you are coming from, I was there. Were there issues and things to improve upon, yes. To say it was awful is ridiculous. To have a wrestling event in the middle of times square was amazing. There were multiple goose bump moments.
If you have problems with individuals or programs, just say it. Don't knock one of our sports greatest events.
Believe it or not, alot of solid wrestling people other than the nyac and noel worked really hard to pull that off.
By the way, there was a giant jumbotron for all to see if you couldn't get close enough.
The Intrepid, Times Square, about to line up the Garden. I think we are moving in the right direction.

I'm sorry but this is insane I don't know what the heck is going on in New York and East Coast all of a sudden but I will drive my kids my wife and brother from Kentucky for the NCAA. That's all I have to say Amd go Flo.

Was unreal they ben got nominated for best Ameture event of the year and was in sports illustrate. NCAA wrestling at MSG is Definately going get some energy onto 212 hopefully add some more D1 programs in the process

I actually thought that the Times Square event was awful. There were very few seats. It was hard to see. It got ZERO press locally-- fall all the self congratulations of the promoters. It would have been better to have it somewhere like the Madison Square Garden or some other venue that holds 3000-5000, and then you can pack the place.

FWIW, Noel also does an awful job of promoting his own NYAC tourney. Even though there are no more than a few hundred seats, the place is not full. Just telling all the local high school teams about the event would be enough. But the NYAC does not do even that.

What if we eventually flood Washington D.C. with fans for an event, and they subsequently visit their elected officials to demand that the Ed. Dept. stop using Title 9 to kill college wrestling teams? (as described in SavingSports.org )...
