It should stay the same. Folkstyle is Our American way of wrestling. Collegiate style teaches American wrestlers control over their opponent, more so than in freestyle. I think we need more wrestlers from the collegiate level and all wrestlers in general to make the transition.I don't think Collegiate holds us back, it's just that most wrestlers are not making the transition, or are going to MMA. With the recent recession and institutions closing their mat programs, we need to rethink how to keep our mat skills as a nation up to par with the international level.Jfrizzle- I agree. A lot of recent NCAA wrestlers have been going to the MMA side. We need more wrestlers who stick with the sport and not abandon it for Mixed martial arts.
