Former Oklahoma Sooner head coach Jack Spates tells a story on how his early wrestling experience with 1960 Olympic Champion Doug Blubaugh played a role in Spates eventual New Your State wrestling title. Jack Spates had Doug Blubaugh as a clinician in high school and learned a series that won him his title.

Doug died in car accident last night. Some ran a stop sign and killed him.

the ol' high leg over is still in use today, even at the highest levels. I saw Dustin Kilgore at the NCAAs score with it in the semis vs. Simaz and he also used it for the reversal in finals to set up his come from behind fall.
