He didn't have any control, so no points would be scored. Good call

none, good no call

Most of the time in high school when a scramble is like that and a wrestler is put on his back for a 2 second pause it is usually 2 TD and 2 fall

Good no call.

Tough one.. what has to be decided is when he held him in criteria of a near fall did he have control enough to be awarded a takedown. I say no, so therefore no points are to be awarded.

no points. there shoudn't even be a discussion about this one

Anonymous Coward 11 months ago

In PA, we call that 0 points. No control, so no back.

Anonymous Coward 12 months ago

there is definitely control, he put the guy defending the shot on his back and held him there for over a five count, 5 points.

Anonymous Coward 12 months ago

2 takedown after he pops his head a split second before the times called.. everything before that is a scramble, people are going to be exposed in those positions..

Big fat dramatic goose egg.

There was no points there, if the guy in the blue singlet was completely flat on his back or broke his grip during that defensive tilt then it woulda been 2+2, but he held on and there was no control from before, so it's no point anywhere.

Anonymous Coward 12 months ago

some people r saying it should have been 2.
I personaly believe that it should have been 0 but either way u call it it has to be either 0 or 4 because if you say he got taken down he was then clearly on his back. I think no control so 0 but its gotta be 0 or 4

None

I'm going to have to go with 4, two takedown w/ two nearfall. The position might be awkward, but the object of the match is stay off your back, it was perfectly exposed.

Anonymous Coward 12 months ago

For a takedown to be given there has to be no reasonable doubt that the attacking wrestler has control. In this scramble there is reasonable doubt. There for NO POINTS

No points. No control.

Two for the takedown when the defending wrestler breaks his grip I counted to three before time expired. Which gives him 4 points.

ZERO! reaction time might be a factor here were the aggressive wrestler actually in control, but this is not the case. Exposing your back while both are neutral does not automatically award your opponent points nor does it sest that you've been taken down. Imagine if there was no control while trying to funk out of an opponents leg attack by passing the leg. Should ref's automatically start counting off back points and give the opponent two if you get stuck mid passing? there has to be something more conclusive, and I think ref's are better to err on the side of caution when awarding points. It makes wrestlers work harder, anyway, to earn the points

takedown and two backs.
