Almost seemed like fate that Bubba would end up in the final with Cael's Penn State phenom prodigy frosh. I have all the respect in the world for Cael Sanderson, we all do. But the fact is that he sh#%ed on Bubba and was made to eat a little. I'm more happy for Bubba than any other champion in the tournament because he got dumped at PSU and came back to deck the prodigy.

Bubba seemed pretty in shape to me in his 6x OT match with hall.
Btw bubba got robbed in that match for a reversal in overtime- I expect to see bubba in the finals.
As for fittery/taylor its too close to call.

btw DAVID TAYLOR is going to take this bracket!

roper i see what you mean about flemming he has some weird way of putting the guy on his back from anywhere on top. you can see it in his match against lewandowski he misses the cradle that you were talking about though.

ive never been more excited for a weight class in the NCAA tournament...........David Taylor gets pounded daily by Cael Sanderson and Troy Letters.......dont under estimate the power of a work out partner.......Taylor should be in the finals!

heres why they didnt move molinaro up to 157. THERE IS NO WAY molinaro can put 8 more good pounds on up to 157. i am intrigued how there weights will play out next year. in the low weights you have what martelotti who has be academically ineligiable most of this season, they're getting Nico Megaludis (absolute animal 169-1? in PA), Sam Sherlock and andrew long 4 quality guys there. then at 141-165 you have alton, alton, taylor, molinaro. if they redshirt andrew then i see it odd man out at 33 to 41, 49 molinaro, 57 dylan alton, 65 taylor. if he doesnt redshirt AA, FM, DA, DT in that order. I think its gonna shake down that they redshirt andrew, if not then 125 megaludis, 133, long, 141 Alton, 149 molinaro, 157 alton, 165 taylor.

David Taylor makes this weight class difficult to predict. Taylor stands out as the best freshman wrestler that I have seen wrestle, as I did not have the chance to watch Pat Smith and Cael Sanderson wrestle. Forecasting Taylor's failure point, when he has not failed this year, results in anticipating loss based on his youth, a speculative element to found an argument upon. He could end up winning or not placing, but I feel he will highly likely AA. Bubba Jenkins performance varies so much, he also makes predictions hard. Jenkins beat Taylor last year, Taylor improved, but Jenkins performance ranges from good to great. These wrestlers, meaning the top 157 pounders, didn't cross paths this year, in general, making the predictions even more unpredictable. I predict Taylor, Hall, Fittery, and Jenkins in the top four.

Flo won't let me post the link, but just copy and paste "Bubba Jenkins, interview on PSU release" into the search engine. It should be the first result to come up. At least, I'm pretty sure this is the interview Fretwell referred to

JLS 2 years ago

What video interview of Bubba is Cliff Fretwell referring to that made himupset ? Please post link

I see your point, 2 weeks ain't enough time to get into shape. Yet Bubba has a way shining at odd times, so you never know. Half his problems seem mental, though I don't know him so I can't be sure. In any case, he is an outstanding wrestler, and I hope he pulls it together.

2 weeks 2 years ago

wont be enough for bubba to get into shape

Taylor wins it

non of us saying hes too small. theres no doubt hes capable of gaining some lbs for next season. with his plans on being ncaa champ as a fresh (+undef) I think Burr and Howe are too much for him to handle. next year when JB is gone he'll get his 2nd title at 165 no matter whos in his weight.

Anonymous Coward 2 years ago

DT in 165? not a good idea. the kid is too small for the weight class and I think Cael believes he can produce an undefeted 4x NCAA Champ. next year he'll be there and will be smashing averybody. I wont be surprised if he ends up in 174 somehow in next 3 years. also I dont know whats the deal with Macintoah since QW has 2 more years left. I really wanna know how its gonna play out.
anyone who continues to use the "Taylor is to small for 'fill in weight class here'" argument hasn't followed his growth and maturity over the last couple years. He has a pretty large frame to fill out and will be every bit of 165 next year.
