Michigan Division 1 Team State Championship Match between Detroit Catholic Central and Davison. Two years ago, the championship meet came down to Evan Toth from DCC, he lost, and DCC lost by 1 point. This year, the meet comes down to Evan again, he's losing 9-2 with under a minute left in the match when he throws the kid to his back for the pin, and DCC comes from behind wins meet 29-26

What stands out to me, not knowing either team or wrestler. Is the respect and composure that Toth preformed staying in the middle of the mat to shake hands while his team is celebrating.

Wow how can this Ref. even allow himself to work the mat of a Coach that was a former teammate at this level. I watched the whole video and you are right this ref. won it for CC.

More proof the ref. had a reason to do what he did against Davison. The ref. was Highschool teammates with the DCC assistant wrestling coach. Watch the entire match and everyone will see what the entire gym saw. This ref. cheated for DCC and has ties to DCC.

I thought that Davison kid put up a good fight once he got headlocked. I don't know whether he was actually pinned. But that's dual meet meet wrestling in a nut shell. The thrill of victory vs the agony of defeat on steroids.

Lastly its Davison NOT Davidson, its pudgy NOT puggy, its a headlock NOT a "pull from behind pin" Refs NEVER badmouth their partners seconds after matches Refs DONT cheat, they may make bad calls but state final refs are state final refs for a reason. I have seen these 2 many times both at Individual and Team state finals and if your going to call one a cheater and the other a tattle tail then dammit use your name and be heard. So you must be the stoic guy in the brown vest i assume? Couldnt see squat from that angle.

Actually what is stupid is not to understand the "freestyle wrestling" refernece being used when I said Krause was 5 pointed. If you're going to come on these boards and call people stupid at least understand the sport you are commenting on. You further show your naivete with the "I talked to the official" line and "i was right by the scorers table" line. Sounds like a paent at a Biddy tournament with a fanny pack and their kids headgear on their beltloop. The video is out there, who are you? Are you Mr Han, one of the table scorers, perhaps one of the kids in yellow? Which one is you? Its a wide frame, which are you. I myself was on the steps for the temporary bleachers on the end and had no great view but was probably better than yours. Clearly you are a novice wrestling fan your comments give you away. A 5pt move by the way is a feet to back takedown in freestyle wrestling, that's an Olympic style.

Some facts, this was a story book ending and congradulations to the kid with the amazing pull from behind pin. #1 Michael Mooradian for you to say the 5 points at the end was for good measure is so stupid to say the DCC kid was still behind by 2 points and would have still lost the match points wise. #2 he was not pinned i was standing right in view by the scores table and as you can see even from the video camera on the other side, his shoulder was up 2 inches off the mat and 45 seconds to go. (Not saying that he couldn't have been pinned honestly in that next 45 seconds) #3 the tall ref after the match when approched by me asking him why he allowed this to happen he apoligized for his co refs bad calls and non pin. #4 That little puggy ref CHEATED and the whole gym saw it several times. This match would have never even came to the last match if the ref had not cheated several matches before this one. DAVIDSON was the STATE champs if they had video review and an honest ref. Watch the hole video of this 14 match championships and everyone will see the truth. As I said Congrates to DCC and this kid. But facts are facts. A ref won this title for DCC.

I have to agree that for Evan to be put into this situation twice in 3 years is unbelievable.

It was just the classic high and low for both boys. I remember vividly when Evan lost 2 years ago. And for him to get a chance to eradicate that demon is amazing. Watching the coaches is also a treat. Mitch looks like he lived and died a 100 lifetimes in those last few minutes.

I was matside for this and have been matside for some pretty great events. This was like a movie, the drama, the intensity and emotion were incredible. For Evan to get that "once in a lifetime" opportunity twice and then come through for a state title was amazing. Couldn't have happened to a better kid. My heart went out to the Davison boy.
