Brilliant stuff. It's been said that wrestling is ballet with violence, and this absolute proof. Missouri is lucky to have Pell.

In jui-jitsu this is called a slow roll....you can go like this for 45 minutes or more and you learn what works and what doesn't.......you develop technique without going full bore. I'm 52 and it allows me to spar more at this pace. I still go live and I still compete but the body pays a price for those live sessions. I think like Matt in that I want to do this when I'm 90......Good Lord willing.

The value of this kind of 'free practice' can't be overstated. A ton of learning happens and Pell breaks down the various aspects - ideas, experimentation, increased mat awareness, flow and movement. Once an effective technique is identified, then it can be drilled to solidify muscle memory. This is the preceding step, when new techniques and variations are discovered. Thanks for an inspirational vid.

Our team went to UVA camp one year and Pell is a great technician.....As a coach and being involved in wrestling for awhile I was like a student soaking up as much as I could.
