The Northeast has the best refs around

Ohio refs do suck. NJ refs are clearly the best around and its because they have closed the gap with the coaches around the state. We have two events each year where we meet at Rutgers College Ave Gym in early november and buxton organizes this very well, we go over mostly things with stalling and illegal holds (take a look at the coverage on FLO NJWOA Clinic) and the second one is a couple weeks later at Blair academy for their duel tournament with many clubs in the area where the referees can be evaluated by coaches and the more respected refs around. It is a GREAT system we have in Jersey and other states should do the same to close the gap

We will try and additionally understand amount of time in its numerous faces.Zero, I has not been referring to faces with watches or possibly clocks.I was speaking about the lots of meanings this point has.Oh yes it lets you do.You thought the period meant the exact same to absolutely everyone.Well reconsider that thought; or maybe you could try to clarify the judgement behind here cases.

If you have ever seen Buxton in action at a tournament, one thing is clear. He is a HUGE whiner. He always thinks he's right.
Comparing the top three teams at Ironman, no doubt the coaches of Blair question ref's and are out of their seats the most often.
Very well said - "You have to be better then a bad ref"

Also ... someone needs to take a look at signing Geordan Speiller for the next level.

There were some really bad ref moments at this tourney ... The Darian Cruz Semi was insane ... how does the Ohio kid not get dinged for stalling ... multiple times, instead, not even once (Cruz got dinged instead). Not taking anything away from Dean Heil's amazing run and in particular, how tough he defended against a superior Gullibon ... but that was one fast slap for a fall ... seemed pretty Homer.

If you have ever seen Buxton in action at a tournament, one thing is clear. He is a HUGE whiner. He always thinks he's right. The bottom line is that he's talking about his two semi-final losses at 32 and 38. But They both lost. You have to be better than a bad ref.

To Twilly: LMAO. I was thinking the exact same thing :-)

That's the whole point -- Buxton is not a whiner - his team won! He is, though, very responsible for the success of this tournament - I think Bob P. & Bill Barger would agree - Coach Buxton markets this tournament to many quality teams and has helped make it the best. Blair has been here every year - even when their team is rebuilding and may not win - which means a six hour, usually snowy drive over the Pa mts.
I agree with RTIM11.

If they dont like the home cookin.. stay home.. When you are "invited" to Thanksgiving dinner, do you complain the mashed potatos are lumpy?

The officiating was the worst I've seen. Ohio officials need to figure it out or these elite teams will eventually stop coming. I was sitting by some college coaches and they were disgusted.

Anonymous Coward 1 year ago

Don't shoot the messenger. Buxton knows his stuff, so if he said the officiating needs to be better then maybe he's right. It's not like his team lost and he's making excuses. They WON. So instead of calling him a whiner becuase you're pissed Blair won, just accept the fact that he's probably right.

why is there only 1 of the semi-finals at 152?

Buxton is such a whiner. Wah! Grow up Buxton.

Matt 1 year ago

Why the heck should he not be across the mat every time there is a bad call?! If your kid gets the bad end of a call you should be over there fighting for them. Officials make bad calls and you need to make sure you are keeping them honest. Not all officials unfortunately know the rules as well as they should and the rules dictate the coach can take them to the head table when they have a question or disagreement.

He's right. Flo has changed the game!!

stp 1 year ago

I agree with their was some bad calls. Of course, it's easy for us to say that after watching the videos.
All I'm saying, Buxton was out of his seat and across the mat every darn time anything was questionable.....which also you can see on video.

What a great role model! Blame the ref! We heard the exact same whining at the cheesehead last year. Not every state has spoon feed officials like you do! Stay home next year! Now that you have to deal with the same officials the rest of the country, take your lumps like everyone else.

stp 1 year ago

Sit your butt down Buxton. I'm curious, have you ever won an argument with a ref, maybe gotten one call over turned?

Dear lord quit your belly aching.
