Barry has been a class act since his days at Cedar Rapids Prairie HS in Iowa and throughout his success at the U. of Iowa, right on to the Olympic Silver in 1984. |

Class act and well deserved, one of my high school idols and from everything I have heard as great a person off the mat as he is on it. Huge props to Barry Davis a true legend in the sport. Great choice, can't even begin to imagine the emotions he has gone thru this year. |

You are a soulless bastard. As a Hawkeye fan, I'm glad it went to Barry Davis. Not just because of what he's been through, losing his brother, but because his team performed very well, and he's a very deserving recipient. He's a champion at heart, and he is a great coach, and the deserving 2009-2010 NWCA Coach of the Year. |

I've known Barry since his high school days at Prarie. He always has been, and always will be a first class individual. He destroyed me at a freestyle tournament once. After the match he was showing me moves on what I did wrong and how to improve myself. I'll never forget that. He is also one of the funniest guys I've ever known. |

This is the most powerful interview on Flo I have ever watched. Barry Davis is and will always be my favorite Hawkeye of all-time in the way that he competed and to this day the way he coaches. Barry exhibited and energy level that was unmatched, a true love for competition. |
