He lost to two Russians in his career in very close matches, both of whom are extremely accomplished. He lost to Sajidov in overtime at '03 World finals by one point and in a close match in Yarygin finals - Sajidov won two world titles and barring injury probably would have won more. His other loss was to Gatsalov in a wild 8-7 match at World Cup who proceeded to win five World/Olympic titles and counting. Cael also notched wins over world champ Magomedov and 3x World/Olympic champ Adam Saitiev, not to mention beating world champ Yoel Romero and 4x World/Olympic runner-up Moon. And that's all in the span of two years. There's no standout at 84kg today at the level of Sajidov or Adam Saitiev in my opinion, though it is a deep weight with a lot of good wrestlers.

2004 Olympic Champion Cael Sanderson opens up after he won the 2011 world team trials over world silver medalist Jake Herbert in 2 matches. Cael Sanderson is back competeing as an athlete after a break since his olympic title in 2004.
I am thinking he dropped about 30 pounds. I think he was at 215. He looked bigger than Herbert.
