He was talking about the refs determining matches as a coach. Watch any interview he has ever had about the owings match, he takes full responsibility for every loss he endure, Lee kemp any of those. Losing respect for dan gable is like losing faith in god.. it should never happen |

Was it a mistake not to participate and get better preparation not only for the showdown in Stillwater, OK., but also for March Matness? Or might the young Hawks' confidence have been so rattled at the Duals that a loss would have otherwise ensued in Stillwater this weekend, prematurely ending the winning streak and Coach Brands' momentum which he has otherwise solidified with this win streak milestone? Any predictions as to what place the Hawkeyes will take in Philadelphia this March? |

Brands felt his team would benefit more from using the time from Midlands to the OSU dual as an extended training period more then going to the duals. If they went to the duals they would have had to taper training for it and then recover. Instead they were able to train right through the one dual and get a great mini camp type of training period in. |
