Iowa HILLBILLY
Hillbilly would have two Ls smart guy. St.John is from Iowa CITY, so it makes it hard for him to be a hillbilly. The definition if hillbilly would be a term referring to certain people who dwell in rural, mountainous areas of the United States, primarily Appalachia but also the Ozarks. Rural would mean country in this definition, so since he lived in a city he could not possibly be a hillbilly. Also if your referring to all of Iowa, you must not have ever been through Iowa. We don't have mountains. |

Someone WIth A Brain...If I On

You two are both idiots that know nothing about wrestling. 103class, I doubt you are in some fancy yacht or anything. You just said that because some guy called you out and you're embarrassed because your some washed up JV high school wrestler that never made it into the starting lineup until your senior year after you were hazed during your beginning years in high school. That or either your some kid's parent who has to watch his son got wailed on repeatedly match after match. Or even worse you just live in your parent's basement and vicariously live through college wrestlers and get a kick on bashing the success of others. Either way let me enlighten the audience on Flowrestling about these wrestlers. Dake, yes he is a very talented wrestler. However, I feel that all of Cornell has no class and are some ivy league jerks that think they better than they really are. Dake seems nice but he is riding on his high horse and thinks he is so much better than everyone. If you read his twitter you would see how embarrassing he really is, and how he even kisses David Taylor's butt. And Simaz is a totally idiot and ruined college wrestling's chance on getting to the big stage in media by getting the reporter angry with his self-absorbed ego. Saying this, St. John is also a talented wrestler but all Hawkeye wrestlers have some weird robot mentality. And St John fits that perfectly. I remember back in high school when he lost to Nicholson in the state finals he showed no class. Listen, wrestle with all your heart. If you lose, you lose. Don't show no class and ruin the sport from getting into the spotlight. By the way, you're not that tough and i guarantee you frat guys around the nation would love pounding your face in if they got the chance and the great savior Tom Brands would crap his pants and all that tough talk would go down the drain. And btw, brainwashing your wrestlers and just criticizing them does nothing Mr. Brands. Marion is a great kid that gave his life to the sport and program, give him a little respect. Take the stick out your butt and stop using your toughness as a front because everyone knows your scared because you know Penn State is going to be dominating for a long time. |

St. John is so overrated Choad is right all St. John did is wrestle like a wimp and I was not impressed with his typical Iowa style wrestling (pushing, pulling, eye poking, ect) there must have been a better finalists all he does is keep it close and score off of others shots in OT please |

Hey Choad, I am not a Hawk fan either, but hey, no point in living is some sort of fantasy-land. St. John is very talented, and so are many of the Iowa guys. The problem I have with the Iowa style is that I believe it instills the wrong ethic in young college students. We go to college to enhance our smarts, not to learn to be aggressive dominators, as if college were a training ground for future Bernard Madoffs. I've never wrestled US collegiate style (just freestyle and BJJ), so I admit I don't quite get it. But while watching Dake and St. John at the NCAAs, I was quite surprised that St. John just pushed and hit the whole match -- and the ref dinged Dake for stalling! Unbelievable! As an outsider to college wrestling, I say St. John stalled, not Dake. Dake's the one who initiated action -- the only action in the match. St. John just turned it into some sort of half-baked street fight. I mean, if you really want a fist fight, come join me in the MMA octagon. As far as Dake is concerned, he was interesting to watch to some extent because he was smart and tactical. For that reason I'd say he has a great shot in freestyle. |

oh I dont think he was really that injured he didnt look hurt in the finals for some strange reason. He was lucky to be there son! Overtime matches where he just scored off of others offence does not impress me and thats all this overrated Hawkeye did all this and last year. He will never ever be an NCAA Champ and does not deserve to be that goes for Evans,Telford and the rest of them and if Mcdunno went his true weight he would not be either I assure you |

You are about as classless as Kyle Dake's post match interview. Watching DSJ battle his way to the finals on one leg was one of the most impressive things I have ever seen. Dake was clearly better that day, but he better watch out if he dodges Taylor next year. He still might end up with only 3 titles |
