Here is a tribute video to the sport of wrestling, this video captures the energy and emotion behind the sport of wrestling. Thanks to Jason Russell for putting this wrestling tribute video together.
Stephen Abas cannot be compared to any other wrestler who ever walked on the mat. He is a different breed of wrestler. His wrestling style and personality blended to make a cocky, creative, and vicious competitor. Abas redefined the possibilities in the wrestling world with his amazing acrobatic moves, which frustrated and embarrassed his opponents. His arrogant composure only compounded their frustration.
Consistent with his unique style, Stephan Abas went on to wrestle at Fresno State, away from the typical Midwest power house schools. On his journey he became a four-time All-American and three time NCAA Champion. After college he dominated the freestyle national circuit and became an Olympian. Abas won silver in the Athens 2004 Olympics.
